Jeez

It's not just the groin injury. How many times has dude missed games for nagging injuries. It's also the timing aspect. Dude always gets hurt when the door opens for him to see significant time so we can really see what he is made of. Twice he has gone down immediately after the incumbent starter goes out of the lineup for an extended period where we were hoping to see if Frank would step up.

1) He missed 3 games before the groin injury earlier in December/January due to an ankle injury. Hadn't missed any other games due to injury this season. Knox missed more games due to an ankle injury than Frank did.

2) He only had one chance to receive significant minutes after an injury and that was when Mudiay got hurt. Not multiple chances.

3) Timing is irrelevant. This isn't NBA 2K

4) Do you want him to re-aggravate a groin injury in a 12 win season?

RE#4: Frank should be a little worried. This was a great opportunity for him to play and solidify himself. His future with the team looks bleak IMO if he can’t come back soon.

Courtney Lee has already revealed this. Perry has always been about this mindset as well. I am no longer emotionally attached to any of the kids. The one I want to hold onto the most is Mitch tho, by far. But I already understand if you go after AD there is no way in hell NOLA doesn't ask for Mitch next in line right after the pick.

What Courtney revealed is that everyone is on the block, no matter the quality of their play or their history of availability.

Staying healthy and playing well makes it even more likely they will be shipped out.

Yeah, I know. I'm not disputing it. I have been the one posting the Lee quote on the topic. Which is why I am not getting too emotionally attached to any of the kids.

Quick summary
- Will be ramping up rehab in a few days.
- Was playing through the injury the first 2-3 games of January before he couldn't play through it anymore. I think that's a new piece of info. I thought it was an injury he sustained during the game he came out.
- Said the typical things we expect from Frank.

I use the realgm app and don't know how to quote with it.

Knicks injured point guard Frank Ntilikina hasn’t ruled out making his return during the Knicks’ three-game Western trip that begins Sunday in Los Angeles versus the Clippers.

Ntilkina has been out with a groin strain since Jan. 28, and still hasn’t played with new point guard Dennis Smith Jr.

The Knicks fly to Los Angeles on Friday and will practice at UCLA on Saturday. The Frenchman may be cleared for practice then as he tries to reverse a disappointing second season.

“We’ll keep ramping it up in the next few days,’’ Ntilikina said in a rare interview before the Knicks hosted the Cavaliers Thursday. “We’re going to ramp it up and see how it is.’’

The Knicks announced Ntilikina had a sore groin after the game versus Miami on Jan. 28 and, at the time, Knicks coach David Fizdale estimated he’d be out one to two weeks. It’s possible Ntilkina’s injury was more a groin pull than a strain.

“Surprised, I don’t know if it’s the word,’’ Ntilikina said of his extended absence. “I want to be out there and help them. I’m doing the most I can do off the court to get better and get my body right. We have to be cautious about it. You have to treat it well. Progressively, it’s getting better slowly.’’

It was terrible timing because Ntilikina had finally inherited the starting point-guard job because of Emmanuel Mudiay’s injury.

Then, days after Ntilikina was shut down, Smith came aboard in the Kristaps Porzingis trade and entrenched himself as the starter. Fizdale said Ntilikina will probably play more off the ball.

Asked about his frustration about getting injured at the wrong time, Ntilikina said, “I focus on what I can control.’’

I wonder who's minutes Frank is going to take when he comes back. I can't imagine Dotson, Trier, and Mudiay losing minutes.

Just after everything that's happened this season I just can't imagine Fiz pulling Knox to start Frank.

Lance would get pulled, not Knox

And I'd start Mitch over Vonleh as well
