pau was a beast though. that mid range jumper was money

He was a beast.

He just wasn't top 5, and neither is AD.

They're both sidekicks.

They're kinda similar if you think about it. No playoff success until they joined a winner. Incredibly skilled but can be soft and passive. Needed a 1A to win a chip.

tbf - that is most greats. There are many all-time greats that wouldn't have been able to be the main piece to carry a team to a chip.

No you're right, there's nothing wrong with being the second best player on a championship team. A lot of players put up stats but would never be able to fill that role.

It's just I've fought that battle against the GB for years (about how AD's not a numero uno on a title team and not top 5).

I think it's clear that AD isn't built to be the "man". that said he really is a perfect running mate. He doesn't have the ego or the mentality to f with someone that is the "lead". And his skills and talent are ideal as a true 1b.

Yeah exactly.

It's my problem with reading stats without context or without eye test analysis.

If we had AD instead of Randle, we'd be 9th or 10th seed

I don’t see the Lakers winning this series...but then again I didn’t see the Cavs coming back from 3-1
