Yeah with Orlando and Houston etc. it is actually interesting to note how important certain "role" players are and what type of difference they make. Same goes last season for Gafford and PJ ---made a 45win first or second round exit Mavs team into a Finals team.

That's precisely why I'm utterly hopeful with Mitch. He is exactly what our team lacks and I feel his return and defensive presence could truly lift this team another level. If you told me today that Mitch is gonna stay healthy the rest of the way and able to handle 25 minutes and play his A game, I think we truly have a chance of getting to the ECF or Finals.

Lakers probably just hold more sway but keep in mind he did lose 100million....at least in the near future...possibly he can make up a lot through advertisements etc.

I think this was always the puzzling part about the trade---like if AD was a super durable big man and 2-3 younger (like 28 years old or so)---one could have seen the rational a bit more. But the vast age difference and the fact that AD is more injury prone than Luka (fat or not) made it so much more puzzling.

Maybe the fact that AD has been pretty healthy the past 1,5 seasons made the Mavericks talk themselves into "his injury woes are now over" type of thing.

Damn just read that PJ has also left the game with an ankle injury.

The Mavs had 18 blocks...is that some kind of season record? Must be pretty rare...

Gafford was truly a super cheap pickup for them....I wished back then we had made a play for him....super useful player on a good contract..
