His chucking will convince u otherwise. Yes 2.5 million is a bargain for him but it doesn't make him a good basketball player he still sucks and we will get pissed a lot about him.

No. I agree with Idunk.

Crawford @2.5 mill is a huge bargain. He could put up 20 (if you needed him to), or he will be content with coming off the bench providing a spark-- and he will provide a spark, he will be good off the bench, he will still hit a few threes and score 12 or 13. He can play either position (if you really need him to play PG for some reason) he isn't a natural PG, but it's nice to have an emergencey option. He is a more mature player than when he played here. I know he has defensive issues, but at least he is a willing defender, and I believe he still can become a better defender. He will step his D up if Tyson helps get everyone else to.

Rookies will get there time if they deserve it, Crawford or not. Lets not get ahead of ourselves.

Crawford can't guard a 3, 4, or 5 which Purp can...and I would also put it out there that Crawford doesn't guard 1's or 2's well either....actually he plays no defense.

I agree but it's kind of irrelevant whether Crawford is better given that he's going to bolt in a year. If we are all about winning as many games as possible this season and sacrificing the future why don't we trade Shumpert?

Jamal Crawford has turned down an offer from the Pacers for $10 million over two years, according to a source.

Crawford is considering offers from the Knicks, Blazers, Kings and Wolves.

Even if that was entirely true, his offensive impact outweighs Shawns in a much more impacting way, imo.

he sure as h*ll can guard 4's he did it all last yr. He started at the 4 in the playoffs. As for the 5 that might be pushing it but I do recall him going toe to toe with D12 a few games.

This Shawne > Crawford talk is crazy. Just look at their market values to see who is the better player.

he's not an ideal 4 but we have nobody else. we'll be playing 3 guards off the bench and jeffries.

I like Purp but what Jamal could potentially bring to this squad is more important. He's a bonafide scorer. We need one off the bench. Again, Drank is my guy but I doubt he can repeat what he did for us for the better part of last season. It took a while but I'm going w/Jamal.

no one is saying talent level...i am strickly judging the move off need. Looking at our bench we are in much more need of a wing player then a combo guard off the bench. I have confidence that shumpert can provide that combo guard off the bench.

Having Shawne is a decent luxury. He is a guy who provides some size, and can defend a few positions. He is a sure bet usually from D'Antoni's corner three, and can defenitley provide a spark. But Crawford could be a championship caliber starter plugging in there at the 2 spot. I believe it would be a battle for that starting SG spot.

Here's how I look at it...

Signing Purp means less minutes for jeffries

Signing Crawford means less minutes for Shumpert

i just don't like that trade off.

championship calibre starter??? are u serious!

every team he started for s*cked and didn't make the playoffs...when his role diminished to a 6-man scorer he proved his worth.

Jamal is a 6-man off the bench....any more and he is hurting the team more than helping
