was reporting what mike gribanov said about garland. he's one of the best AAU scouts.

i don't really care that much about primary ball handler upside outside of zion tho. even if garland is not that good of a creator he has shooting and shot versatility with the athleticism and skill level to be a good offensive player besides another high level player.

I personally don’t want another poor playmaker at PG. It’s already bad enough watching mudiay. I’d rather roll with DSJ or Ja over Garland

Not a fan of that fit. That’s like having Kyrie and Rozier together. I’ll pass on that

Cause he would've been the BPA at #9. We would still need to find a big play maker to place next to him. Kyrie won't work.

Can't keep on drafting point guard after point guard, i don't even think ja morant or garland would want to workout for the knicks because of how many point guards are on the roster at the moment. The pick if its number 1 pick and the knicks get lucky its zion, if its pick number 2-5 it most likely going to be rj barret or culver. I could see the knicks trading with the suns if the knicks get the number 2 pick and suns get the number 3 pick for ja morant and frank. The knicks could also trade with bulls if they fall to number 2 and bulls are at 4 especially because bulls want morant badly.

Who's a big playmaker? DSJ? I like the kid but he ain't on Kyrie level and I'm taking Garland over him without question.

Im not playing DSJ next to Kyrie either. I've already said to trade DSJ if we are getting Kyrie or Ja. You need a 6'6 or bigger play maker that can defend the 2 while Garland can guard the 1. A Kyrie and Garland back court would get destroyed defensively. And offensively it's not so great as a fit either.

Garland is a much worse defender and play maker than DSJ so it's easy for me to pick DSJ over him all day.

If it were up to me I would try to develop DSJ. But if we are at #2 it puts us in a tight position cause Ja is the BPA. Since we suck so much, we have to take the BPA even if it's point guard because DSJ is also not a sure thing. We'd probably have to move him. Hopefully we just get Zion

And I don't want RJ's trash ass here

The last part is a hell no

The Kyrie part I get but no way would Garland start next to him but in stretches it would work

i already said this but i'm now convinced, culver is the 2nd best prospect.

mainly because his jump shot doesn't have a hitch but also he just looks like he's going to be good.

Then don't draft Garland. If you know he isn't going to start then why waste a lottery pick on him? I wouldn't waste a lottery pick on a bench player.

I’d think if we get second pick and draft morant it would do some serious damage to DSJs psyche. Beyond what the Cardinals are doing to Josh Rosen since it would be the second time with a different team that his team drafted a highly touted player at his position.

If he plays backup pg and also sees some time with the starters you could have him at 25-28 mpg. That ain't no bench player that's a key piece of the rotation. If we are putting together a win now team and KD comes too then no rookie besides Zion is guaranteed starter or even being on the team after the off-season.

I see what you saying but I would still aim higher than that with a lottery pick. Draft someone you know has a bigger chance to be a starter/star. If you know Garland is going to be coming off the bench off rip when there is other players available with more potential than him then you know picking Garland is a major reach.

Nobody after Zion got more potential than him so there's no reach. He's been sitting 2 on my board for weeks maybe months. Nothing changed

i'm starting to come around to this line of thinking too. god damn do i wish he would have played more games to evaluate though. the good thing is he's pretty much guaranteed to make it to 5 now, so we can get him if we want.

if i had to bet on which guy is most likely to surprise people and make people regret passing on him, it would be garland

Draft order and workouts can still play a role. I remember this time last year some thought Mikal Bridges was a lock for top 6 but he not only fell below that but even got traded. We will see how things shake out this year

Bulls would be foolish to pass on him imo
