Zack Lowe grew up a huge Boston fan, and even though he has talked about the demise of his fandom through becoming a national writer, the hatred/mockery of the Knicks he cultivated throughout his youth has still been obvious in his writing from jump. He's been taking Ainge balls deep for years now.

I also agree that the franchise has done this to themselves, but Zack Lowe has a born and bred distaste for the New York Knicks that he can never fully suppress.

A lot of high end knick fans dont seem to get it.
The knicks added 2 potential number 1 scorers to an aleady existed core. These guys would be Randle and Rj.

The big man signings are looking more and more overblown by the day.
Its because every team needs 5 bigs but only 4 are really in the rotation.
Having insurance in case of injury or matchup isnt that particularly detrimental, especially given NY landscape of facing an uphill battle towards competiveness.

Being solidified in FC could reap benefits to a team that bad things happen like a leaky hose.
Btw morris and taj bring defense so that gives value already that other fans probably wouldnt understand.
Randles signing needs no explanation. Bobby is an offensive big but guess what? Its an offensive league.

In a way signing that many bigs could be tank fodder. If it comes to that, the knicks will be REALLY prepared. In a rebuild, if you are actually building rome, not afghanistan then it will be pleasurable to develop a budding superteam. In all honesty i think FG posts of whats the goal for this franchise is in flux.
People want to build the right way but win and be competitive right now.

I for one, am not losing sleep over the Knicks not being able to sign bigtime players last offseason. The players that were signed are bonafide rotation players on most teams, while during the previous years, we were fielding a d-league lvl team around Melo. The contracts are hardly any risk at all which is quite refreshing when the FO was known for signing crappy contracts with player options back then.

Plus Melo cannot accept the role as 12th man. Lance is there for locker room presence. Has nothing to do with basketball because he sucks

It’s going to be another tough season to watch. We do not have veteran players who can help our young guns develop a tough mindset when it comes to losing close games and losing streaks throughout the season. None of these players have been in a winning team other than Gibson and that was a while back so buckle up and hope for the best but don’t be disappointed with the end results.
