Reminds me of Randle from last year. Both of them got big contract extensions and then stopped playing well.

A bust would be non-contributors over the span of their careers during the rookie contract.

That would be Kevin Knox & Frank Ntilikina for example. So no. RJ is an inconsistent starter who is someone who can average somewhere between 18-22ppg at in inefficient rate most of the time.

I think RJ will turn it around a be at least worth his contract but I still don't want him long-term. I really hope he doesn't stop them from trying to pick up another wing in the draft. They need to keep taking swings on versatile wings like Cam and Grimes. Even at his best, he doesn't feel like the type of player who should be the cornerstone of a modern NBA team.

I don't think he's a bust or will be a bust. His ceiling is basically Andrew Wiggins though.

This serves us no purpose as we don't have the luxury to keep him as a 4 or 5th option. Knicks are just hoping he turns into a #1 or #2 option, which is never going to happen.

It's the sunk-cost fallacy. We drafted him very high at #3 and now he has a fat contract. It's just a prayer that he turns into a great player now at this point. Knicks really went all-in with a pair of 4s.

The NBA knew that Barrett would be miles below Zion and Morant in talent, that is why they made sure that the Knicks would drop down to 3rd in the draft despite them finishing with the worst regular season record.
