He had super-solid connections with almost the entire class of 2003. You just have to have patience.

Don't forget Leon and his access to the entire CAA catalog.

Those connections were vital in getting Chris Paul to join the knicks

Yeah okay, quite a nice trade for Cleveland and not that much for Indiana. That's not the way to start a rebuild.

How do you want Indiana to rebuild?

This will be their first rebuild in decades since their owner was against doing a complete rebuild.

At first I haven't seen, that they were also getting a first round pick. Now, it makes more sense. Even though that almost every pick nowadays is protected. If Cleveland falls of the roof next year and lands in the lottery, I know were the ping pong balls will end up!?

The pick will still be conveyed. Cleveland is making the playoffs and Indiana will get a pick in the 18-22 record.

it'd be nice to get brogdan from the pacers, if they want full rebuild.

but that also means thibs won't play him

I think Brogdan cannot be traded until this summer - but he is a player I have always loved. Would not overpay for him - but would love to have him on the Knicks. I don't think he and Randle would get along though...

Sexton is the guy I do not want, so of course he will be who the Knicks get.

I can understand the appeal

Dude put up big numbers on good efficiency last year at 22 years old

But there's a reason the Cavs are fine with moving on from him

He's kind of like a 6-1 Randle

It's a case where you're gambling that he's gonna figure it out, cause if he does, that's an all star, but if not, it's Lou Williams. Fine enough player who does have a role, but you don't want to be paying him 25+ million a year.
BaF Lakers:

Nikola Topic/Kasparas Jakucionis
VJ Edgecombe/Jrue Holiday
Shaedon Sharpe/Cedric Coward
Kyle Filipowski/Collin Murray-Boyles
Alex Sarr/Clint Capela

Bench: Malcolm Brogdon/Hansen Yang/Rocco Zikarsky/RJ Luis Jr.

Has put up big numbers and can score. He's basically a 6'1" SG. Not a bad player on the right team in the right role. But seems like someone who the Knicks will overpay, give too big of a role and try to force into becoming a star

Time for an honest assessment. We will not make the playoffs this year despite being relatively healthy. Rose might add value here but not that much. The only players who can be better next year are younger players. Their trajectory however does not suggest going from 12 to top 6. We don’t have cap space in the summer with current salary commitments.

Once you figure out the issues, the rest should be easy. Here is what you could do: Sell veterans to the best bidder and not worry about wins (the correct approach IMO). Trade veterans, picks and some of the youth for all star level players especially in needed spots (PG and stretch C).

My obvious prediction is neither of these two will happen. Once again we will end up with mediocre picks and mediocre veterans.
