Do you work for the Knicks, bro?
In what reality is interviewing retread Mike Brown and 3 other guys - and only interviewing Mike Brown a second time - a 'wide net'?
Inquiring about coaches on successful teams doesn't count as a 'wide net'. There was zero chance any of those were happening.
If you're going to defend terrible moves at least provide some facts on the matter.
What you just wrote is Dolan propaganda BS. Nothing more. I don't consider interviewing 4 guys a wide net' at all. This was an abysmal coaching search to end up with a worse version of Thibodeau.
Haha, no, I don't work for the KNICKS. I'm simply going on speculation and rumors just like you are. According to the same "reports" you've been basing your opinions on (unless, of course, YOU work for the KNICKS), Leon cast a wide net by attempting to speak to multiple coaches -- some of whom are under contract and unavailable.
Regardless, wide net or not is irrelevant, and my original question remains on the table: If you're not happy with the coaches who are rumored to be among the finalists, then who do you want???????
You've spent a lot of time complaining without ever once mentioning the choice that would be perfect for
YOU that has somehow been overlooked, ignored, and is not in the running.
Maybe if you spent time reading my post you would know I wanted to
search far and wide for the best basketball minds - assistants and beyond. I’m not going to name every assistant in the league. I had some guys in mind.
Sam Cassell, Chris Quinn, Johnnie Bryant, etc. Many more. I thought we needed to be innovative. This is not an innovative hire.
This is a trash hire.
But as I said in the post you didn’t read,
After all this I'm told I need to be happy and excited for Mike Brown. It's the same old thing. Knicks make literally ANY move and there is a collection of people who sill support it no matter what it is, then tell others they're being bad fans by not supporting said terrible move. It's a cycle that has been going on forever and will never end.
Thank you for finally providing an answer to the question!
I will readily admit I DO NOT work for the KNICKS -- and, unless you tell me otherwise, I'm going to assume you don't either. With that said, it's a safe bet that neither you nor I know
for a fact who Leon did and/or did not search for, inquire about, etc. Or, in other words, your argument that Leon didn't "search far and wide for the best basketball minds - assistants and beyond" including such names as "Sam Cassell, Chris Quinn, Johnnie Bryant, etc." is meritless since (again, unless you work for the organization) it's based solely on rumor and speculation.
My bro, I did read your post. TWICE. And, it appears your complaint is solely based on the "rumor" that the KNICKS didn't do things the way you wanted, when you don't really know if this is actually true or not. Just because the fans weren't officially notified about every single move step-by-step doesn't necessarily mean it never happened.
Finally, your statement that "this is a trash hire" appears emotional -- particularly since (reportedly) NO ONE has been hired yet. So, the perception is you're complaining simply for the sake of complaining.
It's your call if that's what you want to do. I also don't see anyone forcing you to like Mike Brown or whoever is eventually hired. However, I'd respectfully suggest that maybe you at least wait until a hire has been announced
before you launch a complaint campaign against something that has yet to occur. It would certainly appear more credible.
