For all those that talk down on the Melo trade, who would you rather have, Melo for ~25million a year or Wilson Chandler and Gallo for ~28 million a year

Plus three first rounders. Yeah.

2014 and the two Denver got for Moz. Or add Moz in at $5 mill per and subtract the 13.5 for RoLo. So Melo and RoLo for $38.8.

Gallo, Chandler and Mozgov plus the first rounder for $33 and whatever the first rounder cost.

I'd rather have Melo and RoLo though but hey, add all the pieces in.

We need a proven vet post scorer like Boozer. He is definitely a good fit for us.

Gallinari is pretty good when he plays which is rarely. Some players are just injury prone and that needs to be accepted. You could ARGUE he'd be worth the money IF he were healthy but since youre getting him for 50 games its a bad deal.

Even when healthy he's nothing special. When I think of the top 10 SF...his name hardly ever comes to mind

Last 1/4 of the season where he was fully healthy he was a hell of a player for the Nuggets - I'd throw February in there also, but he was still working his way back from the Nuggets' medical **** with him. IIRC, they also are a ways away from hitting the cap floor and giving the money to Gallo is a good bet with low risk (because the money had to go somewhere anyway - might as well give it to someone who has shown he can be a great player for them).


Edit -- check his splits -- he literally got better month by month...which makes sense coming back from what the Nuggets' dumb medical staff did to him.

He was decent in March, and had a good April which lasted 6 games. I don't place any significance in his April stretch because their season was over at that point...a lot of decent players end up putting up good numbers in April when the games have zero meaning. He's ok...nothing special. His contract is pretty funny IMO, but average players are getting a lot of money these days so it is what it is.

How? In Mygm? Doesnt he automatically resign with Cavs? Well I am not gonna play it again actually, remember drafting KAT, Okafor and Russell together and signing Middleton n RJax to very cheap deals lol

I think you can do Melo at the 4 with RoLo at the 5. That can work. There's a chance we do that rather than start Porzingis.

I don't think there's any chance Jose is not the starter if he's here. Even if Grant continues to look ready and quality.

You could see Derrick Williams start and he and Melo are 3/4 interchangeably. That seems to make the most sense if you look at everything, though I favor Porzingis starting personally.

I agree, with probably Melo guarding pfs and Williams guarding sfs, hopefully Williams' defense would be better than advertised. Ease Porzy slowly to the Nba and sign NDOURANTULA already Phil you Zenny mug ¡!

Williams can't guard a wet paper bag....very much struggles with quicker swing men. And why would you want Melo taking on PF's unless they're strictly stretch 4's. He's not getting younger and he's coming off injuries, no need for extra abuse. If he's going to get torched, have it be against SF's that won't wear him down.

Williams was absolute garbage defensively at both positions despite being athletic but he played much better towards the end of the season at the 4 so my guess is that he will get most of his minutes. He can probably handle the 3 against slower guys in limited minuets though

lol i did it in nba 2k13... i was using the mavs and this was my third seasons i got lebron dirk paul pierce tony parker wilson chandler luis scola and paul george. carmelo also left the knicks to replace lebron on the heat lol
