Go celts!

They didn’t need to tank cause the New Jersey Nets did it for them. That sounds like my preferred type of strategy too!
Knicks can get that done if they can scam the Lakers by giving them Randle for Russ and a 1st

I know what you mean. But I don't understand these grudges. This this isn't your grand daddies Celtics. Totally different team, totally different players and staff. I mean if they changed their name, would that be acceptable? Because that's the only thing that stays through the years.

Boston fans are completely obnoxious next to Philly and Chicago fans.

Feels like we're in the 2nd round of the playoffs still.
Maybe because the Finals lack superstar power outside of Curry and Tatum.
And even then, Steph largely fell off the map the last 2-3 years (feels like they pulled the heimlich on his storyline out of necessity), and Tatum was largely ignored in the news and debate shows vs other guys from his generation (Luka, Ja, Booker etc.) before the playoffs started. This match-up just feels a bit anticlimactic.
Maybe this championship will be remembered as the start of a dynasty for Tatum and the Celtics. Maybe this championship will re-establish Curry as the NBA's marquee superstar. And perhaps these Finals will retroactively gain narrative power.
Until then, it feels a bit underwhelming compared to previous editions.
Or maybe I'm just upset the Celtics are up 1-0 vs Steph. Ugh.

Look, I’m not about to defend NYC’s racist history. I’m no expert or cultural anthropology professor or anything, but I’m just letting you know the stone-cold reality of the fact that many white people all around the country root for the Celtics because their name and logo is a European clan and because the face of their franchise used to be the Great White Hope.
I like Tatum too. I especially like Coach Idoka. But that doesn’t make it any less obnoxious that old MAGA white men casually root for the Celtics in sports bars across the country or that a new generation of Barstool frat-boys come out of Boston.
I realize there are many kinds of Celtics fans and they’re not all racists. But go to a Knicks road game and you’ll see every color in the rainbow decked out in orange/blue. Pan the crowd in San Francisco on Sunday and tell me you see a single face in green that isn’t white.
I’ll cop to hating those f’ckers for more than half my life now and maybe I’m just old and things have changed. But try asking Magic Johnson or Bill Russell what they think about Boston Celtics fans. Try asking all the high-fiving white dudes at that random *California* sports bar I caught the game at last night why they root for the Celtics.
Imagine Staten Island without people of color. That’s Boston. Now imagine the New York Knicks were called the Staten Island Romans. Those are Celtics fans.
