Dolan has no hands on front office operations, if Randle is moved or not moved is based on how Leon and his team deem Randle a fit roster wise and contract wise. I think ultimately he signs a fair deal extension next month.

Randle wants 5/310
He is the type of guy that cannot accept anyone on the knicks making more $ than him (og) bc he feels that this turnaround is all bc he came to ny. Went on Jalen’s podcast and even said he already took a discount coming here.
Connect the dots y’all.
Randle wants to be respected with 5/310, he dgaf about anything else

[He] notoriously loves Julius Randle. Part of the reason for that is because all of the fan base was just like, out on him. Dolan was like, ‘That’s my guy.'”
“He loves Randall. He loves that Randall chose New York,” Katz added. “He loves his game. He loves the way he plays. It’s not like there’s some sort of issue with ownership or management. He’s very well respected in the organization.”
Due to the team’s recent success, President Leon Rose and his staff are sure to have the power to make whatever move they feel is best for the roster, including trading Julius Randle. However, the owner of the team being a big fan will surely influence the organization’s future decision-making when it comes to the 29-year-old star.

People wonder why Randle hasn’t gotten traded for the past 5 years this is why. He’s gonna retire as a Knick

Randle has to be getting the current 'vibes' of the NBA with cap apron stuff and will hopefully come to his senses so will take the extension of around 4/$220 from the Knicks because it will have a trade kicker in it that bumps up the salary if he does get dealt.
There aren't going to be many teams with the cap space to sign him for that 'max' deal and hardly any winning teams that do who want him. If he wants his $50milper and to be on a winner it's going to be with the Knicks. Take the deal Randle, you'll get paid and those goodwill vibes from Knicks fans, too.
Although, Kleiber, PJ Washington and an unprotected 1st would pique my interest... toss in Hardy, too and it's done deal. Randle gets to go home, cue the 'I'm coming home' montage...*snif*

I’m just waiting for Capela to get bought out by the Hawks so we can sign him for cheap 2 year deal to be our Mitch backup

This is very likely coming to a head soon. Stuff is getting strategically released in the media. Begley is the main Rose mouthpiece . When He specifically is the one that is throwing shade on Randle's future here it means it getting close to something probably happening.

This could be the Knicks basically saying you need to 'play ball' like Brunson did and Bridges is about to do otherwise we g9nna move yo butt outta here.
But I think Randle wants the bag and it will likely mean he gets it elsewhere.

Re: Trades and Transactions thread cont - we still need a center
I get KAT is not a perfect player but he may be a better fit for this current roster make up. And we can match the 5 out game with Boston with him. And then can dial it in with more defense if we get one of Richards or Kessler too.
Let's look at the dynamics of this kind of rotation:
KAT (15), Richards (28), Sims (5)
OG(25), KAT (17), Hart (6)
Bridges (25), Hart (15), OG(8)
DDV(30), Hart(10), Bridges (8)
Brunson (32), Kolek (16)
1. Offensive 'juggernaught' line-up
KAT
OG
Bridges
DDV
Brunson
-3 ball 1 to 5
-tremendous spacing
-Decent length/wingspan at most positions, not elite but still strong rebounding potential
-Not an elite defensive line-up but OG and Bridges make it still pretty good
-5 guys capable of 20+ scoring nights
2. 'Balanced' line-up
Richards
KAT
OG
Bridges
Brunson
-3 ball 1 to 4
-strong spacing
-Excellent length/wingspan at all positions except maybe the 1, near elite rebounding potential
-Near elite defensive line-up
3. 'Lock-Down' line-up
Richards
OG
Bridges
Hart
Brunson /Kolek
-3 best defenders on floor simultaneously
-ok spacing
-Good length/wingspan at all positions except maybe the 1, near elite rebounding potential
-Lock down defensive line-up, 'protect the lead' at end of games line-up
I think this is easily a championship contender and the team would be basically locked down for the next 4 years with young players under contract who are all 28 or under.

I dont think the KAT trade is feasible anymore.
maybe it was a year ago, but not anymore because Randle's extension is going to match or exceed (greatly) KAT's current contract. so Minnesota trading for Randle means they have 0 intention of resigning him and they are only doing it bc they've decided they cant punt a year of Anthony Edwards in his prime.

what makes sense:
Evan mobley
Aaron gordon
we also shouldn't rule out that the knicks completely decide that its better to get something back NOW (like just 1 or 2 unprotected frps from a completely random team like bobcats or wizards) if they are convinced randle walks or randle wont take less than 5/310.

They do it 4 cap relief mainly while getting 1 year of a motivated Randle before they need to extend Naz Reid under a restrictive CBA esp for a smallish market team. They also get Mitch Robinson to back up Goebert. It makes sense actually for both parties.

If the warriors don’t want to give up Podz for Lauri, could we bet Wiggins, Moodey, Trayce Jackson Davis, 2028 1st (lottery protected) and 2031 (top 10 protected) OR Kuminga and Looney
