I think if you had switched Carlisle and Thibs before the season you would probably see the series unfold in exactly the opposite way. Thibs would be relying heavily on Haliburton, Nembhard, Nesmith, Siakam, Turner.....as all of them would be in the top 20 of minutes played. Then he would play Mathurin and McConnell off the bench to complete his 7 man rotation. Maybe Obi would get some spot minutes here and there but nothing more.

Carlisle on the Knicks would have tried everything to establish a different type of system and rotation. Definitely playing Achiuwa and probably playing Wright and Shamet as well early on in the season and going 9 man deep in the playoffs. You'd have our top 7 with either Wright and Achiuwa or Shamet mixed in. Knicks would be up 3-1 looking to close the series while the Pacers starting 5 would be looking tired, multiple defensive breakdowns and on the ropes....

Yeah same here....really had have enough of this. Secretly I have found myself more interested and motivated to watch other teams because of style of play. Really mindboggling considering numberwise the Knicks have had the most successful season in two decades. There really needs to be change. For me the only way I would accept another Thibs season is if the Knicks miraculously won the series and advanced to the finals (which is not happening). Either a very narrow, ugly win at home followed by a blowout in Indy or Indy is going to finish it in MSG.

Mike Malone is a New York Native. He coached with us for 3 seasons in the early 2000s. He is ONLY 53 years old, young, able body. We need a younger coach who can adapt. He is also a champion, only recently in 2023. He still motivated. Is he the answer to our coaching problems? Can the players get behind him? Anyone can chime in on what his coaching philoisphy looks like?

Jokic would make any coach look good, though. I don't like that Malone seems to have a pretty bad temper and the fact that he overused Westbrook way too much. Plus, the fact that he got fired a week before the playoffs is a major red flag.

Dan Hurley, come on down.

Dan Hurley would be the ideal coach for the Knicks
If not him, then Johnnie Bryant

I thought it was going to be him, but CP said no.

Mike Malone sucks ****. He's just Scott Brooks with a top 5 offensive player in NBA history. Doesn't adapt. Standard guy gets 2 fouls pull him, lose the game never having used your challenge, out of time out clown.

Just hire Steve Clifford, Vinny Del Negro, Dwayne Casey or **** Billy Donovan at that point.

This roster is a treadmill roster benefitting from an East that is completely tanked. Raptors, Heat, 76ers all threw it in this year. Cleveland, Boston, Indy and to some extent Orlando are the only teams who even tried.

You liked our offense under Johnny Bryant when he was here?

CP is a big time Thibs defender....Him sounding like that has me believe there are definitely some discussions going on in the background...he definitely has some sources more than the average fan....more often what he points to comes true.

I hope something unexpected happens...like one of the truly elite coaches currently employed somewhere becomes available.

I didn’t mind it
He was Thibs’ ear to play divo more instead of grimes and finally when grimes went down, he got his playing time
He also worked with Mitch and helped to develop Julius into an all star
Additionally, he was in Thibs’ ear about substitution patterns and rotations

It sounds like he knows a lot due to internal CAA connections
He’s employed by the Garden and CAA, and is sponsored by them
I think it will be someone like cassell, Hurley, or Bryant. A young coach that can be here to build a culture and longevity.

CP shilling for the Knicks organization has allowed him to be the number 1 Knicks podcaster, have a hot girlfriend and free access to the players.Who wouldn't take all of those perks?

Mike Malone is a Jokic merchant. I want to fire Thibs but not if we hire Mike Malone. He is even worse than Thibs.

I wonder if Kerr would consider making the jump to NY... a new challenge. He did once consider us when we weren't even good...

5-year deal and if the man can deliver a title in NY, he'd go down in history as one of the absolute greats.
