Honestly i don't see Mudiay going to LA but if Kobe wants a protégé he's their guy and he just seems so "LA". Still LA is known for their bigmen and they know how to develop em.

I could totally see them taking Mudiay though as well. Mudiay fits what they are building over there pretty well.

I really disagree

They already have an issue with Noel. Is he a PF? is he a C?

They need a guy who can space the floor regardless and Mudiay does none of that. He would further complicate the issue of playing a frontline of Noel + Embiid.

Russell is clearly who they would take if they had to chose between the two.

Noel and Embid are both freak athlete types. I could see them picking Mudiay cuz he fits that. They will play Noel at PF.

Oh please, Woj...this is the same franchise that took Rubio with no guarantee he'd ever play in Minny. If they want Towns, they will select Towns (and they should).

yeah, i see that comparison more then the rest. he has that size and strength at the basket that steph did.

I'm more concerned with how well he sees the court and what kind of passer he is. Is he the kind of player who will he make the other players on the team better?

good passer. not selfish. russel is better though. he has that vision to see things that the guy receiving the ball might have not.

Mudiay is gonna surprise a lot of people....

He's a prototypical NYC PG Ala Stephon Marbury and Mark Jackson

I will be ecstatic if he's available @ 4.

Not as bad as it may seem... I'm just hoping we keep the pick

mudiay might be good... but he was not all that in china... and if we're running triangle he's going to struggle since he can't shoot.. he'd have a really good chance of being good on the sixers or the kings... on the knicks? lil iffy...

winslow's numbers stack up pretty well and the last month really saw him dominate in all facets of the game... he has as much claim to #2 as anyone in this draft...

Yea. Knicks guard play was terrible this year.

Mudiay solidifies the backcourt since he is big enough to play SG on defense. So you can hypothetically run him and Galloway for some really good backcourt defense.

I wish D'Angelo give an ultimatium to Sixers, might happen that you know

NBA Comparison: John Wall
Strengths: Emmanuel is a true point guard with dynamic speed and athleticism and great size… Very unselfish player who loves to get his teammates involved … Outstanding ball handler who is equally comfortable attacking right and left … Excels in the open court where his speed hits another gear… Sees the entire floor…Very quick first step and a lethal crossover … Makes great decisions off the pick and roll … Finishes strong at the rim … Has the size and strength to post up smaller guards … Good rebounder for a guard ...

Weaknesses: Very streaky shooter … Needs to develop a consistent midrange shot …Takes too long to get shot off … Must become a better free throw shooter … Sometimes too flashy and tries hard to make the big play which leads to turnovers … Occasionally over dribbles … Should become more of a vocal leader ... Needs to stay in a stance on defense and close out low with hands high ...

He doesn't have Wall / Westbrook athleticism. Not even close.

Next up maxing out maxing out Greg Monroe.

(BTW, you pick Mudiay is he is there. He would be NY's best PG since Stephon Marbury. I like Winslow's D, though.)
It's hard being a Knicks fan...

So which team we blame the most outside of our very own Knicks? Orlando, Atlanta, Lakers or Timberwolves?

I was actually thinking about this immediately after the lottery. It's unlikely but definitely should not be ruled out.

Okafor and Randle are a pretty bad fit.

He doesn't have Wall / Westbrook athleticism. Not even close.

Strengths:
-Possesses phenomenal physical tools. Has great size for position to go along with a chiseled frame
-Excellent athlete
-Phenomenal in open court
-Strong ball-handler. Can get to the basket thanks to his powerful first step and excellent strength. Finishes with authority
-Draws tons of fouls. Gets to the free throw line at a great rate
-Can find open man. Likes to get others involved. Shows great flashes of court vision at times
-Has tremendous potential defensively
-Outstanding rebounder for position

Weaknesses
-Lacks polish offensively, as both a facilitator and scorer
-Limited outside shooter. Made just 6/41 3-point attempts in 13 Nike EYBL games this spring
-Needs to work on shooting mechanics. Shoots the ball on the way down. Needs time and space to get shot off
-Much better in open floor than half-court game. Playmaking, decision making still a work in progress. Not consistent with his approach. Plays in spurts at times. Has a tendency to overdribble. Doesn't always read the floor, particularly on the pick and roll. Sometimes forces issue unnecessarily. Relies too much on physical tools
-Extremely turnover prone. Ranked #1 in the EYBL in turnovers. AAU team lost more games than they won when he played

Outlook: Incredibly gifted athlete with terrific upside. Has quite a few holes in his game and needs plenty of work on his skill-level, but looks to be in a good place to improve at SMU under Larry Brown.

Based on the new system nomatter who had the worst record would of got the #1 pick... It's not like the numbers would of magically changed based on who it was

It's a fact that those wins at the end of he season cost us from picking 1st to 4th

KnicksGod wrote:I know you guys are disappointed, me as well, but 4 is probably way preferable to 5 of course, in this draft, and me personally, I'm glad we don't have to take Okafor (getting 2).

I'm fair -- Okafor could put it all together one year soon and be the best player of the draft, but that's not going to happen next year. His D wasn't close to good enough to anchor a college team's D. He'd get lit up down low -- I don't think we can withstand that in Melo's final years. And he may never be very good defensively.

I might have removed that thought with 2 so as not to upset people but I'd still think it. Okafor playing major minutes means scores on D. I'm kind of tired of watching our bigs play like that.

I'd rather roll the dice on a trade or Mudiay. But, I'd be a lot happier with Towns. And probably Russell though the workouts will tell that better so we'll get the worse of the two basically.

Yeah, except that I have to believe that there are other teams that really want Okafor and that we could've used that pick to trade down and get more assets.

That was a nice try talking everyone off the ledge, but ... it is what it is, I guess. I do agree with your assessment of Okafor btw.
