I agree but people will think Melo is selfish until he wins a chip. Kobe's selfish but does he get labeled that way? No, because he has 5 rings. People will always look at someone differently once they win a championship. It's unfortunate, but that's how it goes. Media perception is also a contributor. Doesn't help when Melo says some of the things he does even if they aren't wrong. Because people will take stuff out of context regardless.

You have to understand & it's something I've come to understand in my short time here on Real GM, Knicks fans love the gritty blue collar players who aren't making big money but could possibly have a chance to. Our big paid players are held to a very high standard because of the contracts our FO's give them or the pieces they gave up for them. If that player doesn't play to the standard they set for that player then you're done.

I'm not comparing Ewing and Melo in any way other than to say that they're both the best players on their respective teams.

But some of you treated Ewing the exact same way you treat Melo. Unrelenting bashing and bitterness.

It's no wonder Ewing felt like he was never fully respected and chose to gtfo out of NY.

But the fact of the matter is that the guy CHOSE to come here to help YOUR team win a championship. He could've very easily picked the Nets and gotten the same money. He could've very easily chose to stay in Denver and make just as much money, and not have to hear a bunch of bitter whining malcontent fans rip him with every word that comes out of his mouth.

We all rip on Miami Heat fans, but you know what? At least they supported Lebron last year when it all blew up in their collective faces. And you want to know why Lebron kept talking about how proud and happy he was to win that championship for his fans? Because they supported him instead of making him out to be a villain.

Some of you are just so bitter and angry that the Knicks haven't won a championship in 40 years that you target specific players like Melo and Amare and bash them ad nauseum. Often without even knowing what the hell you're talking about or substantiating your reasoning.

Blake Griffin is better than Carmelo Anthony? Really? The guy who can't hit a 12 foot jump shot to save his life, or put the ball on the court without getting ripped? How many times have you actually seen this guy play before you proclaim he's better than our false hero?

The more time goes on, the more I truly feel like the notion that Knicks fans are intelligent and informed basketball fans is just a huge myth.

It really is. And quite frankly if I ever had the opportunity to be an NBA free agent, I'd think long and hard about what I'd be getting myself into by playing for such a fickle and demented fan base.

Two days ago it was **** Melo. Melo comes and kisses Lin ass then it's hooray Melo. Now Lin is most likely gone its **** Melo again. I'm still wondering what does Melo have to do with this? Why can't we just keep this between Lin and possibly Felton since he'll be replacing him?
