The writing is on the wall, we have to get one of Cole/Strasburg. Prefer Cole. Then grab another starter that can be dominate when needed like a Bauer or etc..

Peter Gammons' Twitter account, hacked it seems, has gone full old man and proclaimed that Cole will be a Yankee.

Other reporters saying the Yankees will offer the most money no matter what the other offers are.

I will continue to not expect anything until something happens.

Damn it I just passed out on the couch for a good 3 hrs and had a dream that Cole signed with the Yankees that he announced it live on TV, you know how your in a dream and you think its real I'm asking so what are the years and amount then I wake up, we gotta get this guy.

WOw that's a huge number. I don't see any other team offering more than that. Glad we're not caring much about the tax.

Cashman has been after Cole for years. I've been saying for months that I thought the Yankees would get him or at least go all out for him like they haven't done for anyone in years. But even I didn't see a $35M a year 7 year contract coming!!

If that is true and he turns them down then so be it. Can't complain about Hal or the Yankees not spending with that offer on the table.

Yea he'd be crazy to turn that down. But I can see Angels giving him a 10 year 300M deal or something crazy lol. Even if we get Cole, I think we need to go after 1 more starter and then get rid of Happ. I heard the Yanks are looking at Robbie Ray. Not sure about him. We still need some lefty bats and a figure out what to do with our catcher, 1st base and outfield situation. But all that comes after we get the main guys starting with Cole.

Trout is making $36M next year and Pujols is at another $29M. I don't see the Angels giving out $100M in contracts for three players next year. Of course they could really backload Cole, but Trout is still owed almost $390M over the next 11 years, how much more would they be willing to commit to two players long term?

Of course it could happen, but I think the Yankees will have made the high offer. It's up to Cole now if the report is true.

I wouldn't put it past the Angels. They always seem to overpay. Pujols is in his final years and like u said they can backload the deals. I mean 2 top players at their positions sounds great. I hope they don't put out a crazy offer so we can get Cole but I wouldn't put it past them is all I'm saying.
