The first guy that popped into my head watching Mudiay a few months ago was Tyreke Evans but more willing to shoot he pullup off the dribble

and

Lance Stephenson (minus the passing) when he played iso ball in Indiana.

There is enough film on him + a private workout. Who cares if you see the guy in person or not?

I'm more concerned with how well he sees the court and what kind of passer he is. Is he the kind of player who will he make the other players on the team better?

good passer. not selfish. russel is better though. he has that vision to see things that the guy receiving the ball might have not.

Russell is going to get exposed in the NBA. You think Yim Hardaways defense is bad? Wait till Russell has to guard NBA caliber players for 82 games.

HAHAHAHAHA I LOVE IT!!!!

BAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA THE TEARS OF LOWLY INFERIOR INFERIOR KNICKS FANS CAN LITERALLY SUSTAIN IMMORTAL LIFE. THEY TRULY THE SCUM OF THE EARTH!!!! I FEED OF THEIR MISERY LIVE A SCAVENGER, AND BATHE IN THE REJUVENATING HOT SPRINGS OF THEIR SAD TEARS!!

They don't have a pick next year either, so they have to wait TWO YEARS for another chance at the lottery, and when Isiah Thomas takes over, they will never have another high draft pick ever again!

The Knicks have no business masquerading as an NBA team. Contract them, and put them out of their misery. Move them to Seattle.

CoolKids wrote:NBA Comparison: John Wall
Strengths: Emmanuel is a true point guard with dynamic speed and athleticism and great size… Very unselfish player who loves to get his teammates involved … Outstanding ball handler who is equally comfortable attacking right and left … Excels in the open court where his speed hits another gear… Sees the entire floor…Very quick first step and a lethal crossover … Makes great decisions off the pick and roll … Finishes strong at the rim … Has the size and strength to post up smaller guards … Good rebounder for a guard ...

Weaknesses: Very streaky shooter … Needs to develop a consistent midrange shot …Takes too long to get shot off … Must become a better free throw shooter … Sometimes too flashy and tries hard to make the big play which leads to turnovers … Occasionally over dribbles … Should become more of a vocal leader ... Needs to stay in a stance on defense and close out low with hands high ...

He doesn't have Wall / Westbrook athleticism. Not even close.

Strengths:
-Possesses phenomenal physical tools. Has great size for position to go along with a chiseled frame
-Excellent athlete
-Phenomenal in open court
-Strong ball-handler. Can get to the basket thanks to his powerful first step and excellent strength. Finishes with authority
-Draws tons of fouls. Gets to the free throw line at a great rate
-Can find open man. Likes to get others involved. Shows great flashes of court vision at times
-Has tremendous potential defensively
-Outstanding rebounder for position

Weaknesses
-Lacks polish offensively, as both a facilitator and scorer
-Limited outside shooter. Made just 6/41 3-point attempts in 13 Nike EYBL games this spring
-Needs to work on shooting mechanics. Shoots the ball on the way down. Needs time and space to get shot off
-Much better in open floor than half-court game. Playmaking, decision making still a work in progress. Not consistent with his approach. Plays in spurts at times. Has a tendency to overdribble. Doesn't always read the floor, particularly on the pick and roll. Sometimes forces issue unnecessarily. Relies too much on physical tools
-Extremely turnover prone. Ranked #1 in the EYBL in turnovers. AAU team lost more games than they won when he played

Outlook: Incredibly gifted athlete with terrific upside. Has quite a few holes in his game and needs plenty of work on his skill-level, but looks to be in a good place to improve at SMU under Larry Brown.

He's not a Wall/Westbrook athlete. Those guys are freaks of nature. He doesn't have the change of speed or vertical that those guys have.

Umm...don't count it.

We just can't be this cursed. I refuse to believe it...Dolan must have done something very evil for this kind of stuff to keep on happening.

I can actually see this happening. The key will be Jahlil tanking his workouts with LA and Philly.

I agree that this is a secondary scenario that is very very plausible.

LAL is a complete wildcard, they can take Russell too....

At least the Knicks scouted Mudiay extensively. Phil may feel he'd rather trade the pick than select Mudiay based on what the Knick scouts saw.

I was actually thinking about this immediately after the lottery. It's unlikely but definitely should not be ruled out.

Okafor and Randle are a pretty bad fit.

Is LA that locked in on Randle though? I honestly did not think much of him coming out in that draft.

IN any case gonna be one heck of an exciting draft. Can't wait!!

Also interesting that the West may have even gotten stronger with the top 2 picks going to Minny and LA.

Mudiay-Galloway backourt sounds really solid, i will give you that. But also a one like nothing special, a 1st-2nd round playoff exit type. Just the sound though, I need to study more on Mudiay thats for sure
