Re: Countdown to Lottery: Prospect Talk
Really though as much as I wanted Towns hes not some cant miss prospect on a whole nother level than the others. While Ive been questioning Jah and Russ for a while too. Manny can get to the basket, pass, and he'll be one of the biggest/strongest/most athletic PGs in the league. His shot may not be that bad either since he shot 34% from 3 in China on a longer line than NCAA. Wouldnt surprise me at all if he was even taken before us.

good passer. not selfish. russel is better though. he has that vision to see things that the guy receiving the ball might have not.
Russell is going to get exposed in the NBA. You think Yim Hardaways defense is bad? Wait till Russell has to guard NBA caliber players for 82 games.
His defense will be good enough to guard most NBA 2-guards. It's one of the weakest positions in the league, he'll be fine.

Mudiay was playing against grown ass men professionally since he turned 18, I'll give him some credit there.

Re: Countdown to Lottery: Prospect Talk
I will say again -- said this BEFORE the draw lol -- that Mudiay seemed real bright and savvy in that interview. Russell less so. Mudiay may be not that great, but same could be true of DA -- it's not like there's zero chance Mudiay is better than anybody above him.
On the other hand, I think the pick gets dealt in a Ray Allen-type deal.
Also I'll add the negative thought that PGs are rarely vital to a championship. (About to be probably though.)

He doesn't have Wall / Westbrook athleticism. Not even close.
Strengths:
-Possesses phenomenal physical tools. Has great size for position to go along with a chiseled frame
-Excellent athlete
-Phenomenal in open court
-Strong ball-handler. Can get to the basket thanks to his powerful first step and excellent strength. Finishes with authority
-Draws tons of fouls. Gets to the free throw line at a great rate
-Can find open man. Likes to get others involved. Shows great flashes of court vision at times
-Has tremendous potential defensively
-Outstanding rebounder for position
Weaknesses
-Lacks polish offensively, as both a facilitator and scorer
-Limited outside shooter. Made just 6/41 3-point attempts in 13 Nike EYBL games this spring
-Needs to work on shooting mechanics. Shoots the ball on the way down. Needs time and space to get shot off
-Much better in open floor than half-court game. Playmaking, decision making still a work in progress. Not consistent with his approach. Plays in spurts at times. Has a tendency to overdribble. Doesn't always read the floor, particularly on the pick and roll. Sometimes forces issue unnecessarily. Relies too much on physical tools
-Extremely turnover prone. Ranked #1 in the EYBL in turnovers. AAU team lost more games than they won when he played
Outlook: Incredibly gifted athlete with terrific upside. Has quite a few holes in his game and needs plenty of work on his skill-level, but looks to be in a good place to improve at SMU under Larry Brown.

He's not a Wall/Westbrook athlete. Those guys are freaks of nature. He doesn't have the change of speed or vertical that those guys have.
He's a freak athlete but not on Wall/Westbrook level. That's why I said I didn't see the Wall comparison. Also different kinds of athletes. Those guys are more pure speed. This dude has more of a length/speed thing going on. Hard to explain you just gotta see and compare.

So beginning of the year promise, middle of the year at least we might get the top pick, end of the year we are guaranteed, now we are probably going to unload our pick.
This is so sad. Why couldn't Dolan have left Walsh alone...this guarantees 5 plus more years of losing...I say Phil quits next season, because why wouldn't he. He was banking on the top pick to save face,,,,will NY accept another 20 win season?
We don't own a #1 pick next year why would another 20 win season matter?

BAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA THE TEARS OF LOWLY INFERIOR INFERIOR KNICKS FANS CAN LITERALLY SUSTAIN IMMORTAL LIFE. THEY TRULY THE SCUM OF THE EARTH!!!! I FEED OF THEIR MISERY LIVE A SCAVENGER, AND BATHE IN THE REJUVENATING HOT SPRINGS OF THEIR SAD TEARS!!
They don't have a pick next year either, so they have to wait TWO YEARS for another chance at the lottery, and when Isiah Thomas takes over, they will never have another high draft pick ever again!
The Knicks have no business masquerading as an NBA team. Contract them, and put them out of their misery. Move them to Seattle.
Link me so I can rip him to shreds.

If Galloway actually could shoot then it might not be a bad risk, at least Winslow can shoot, play sg ANDhas Jimmy Butler/Kawai potential.
Eddie Winslow don't got a damn jumper either! GTFOH

Another thing I like about Mudiay is that he was smart enough to pass on the bull NCAA and get paid in China. This guy is smart too.

doesnt have Westbrooks vert but he looks very similar to Wall from everything I have seen.
Well, I'm not sure what film you have been watching but from everything I have seen he doesn't have either of those guy's athletic abilities. He's a good athlete, but not freak like those guys. He's a bootleg Wall.
He looks like a great athlete to me and every scout would seem to agree. MAybe doesnt have the pop/flash of a westbrook or wall but he gets up too. Hes also already bigger then both guys and probably not done growing.

I'm more nervous about Phil taking the wrong player, than a great player not being available, at #4.

So which team we are blaming other than our Knicks? Orlando, Atlanta, Lakers or Timberwolves?

B: FVV | Rozier
B: J. Green | Donte | J. Hawkins
B: D. Jones Jr | B. Hield | C. LeVert
B: Zion | G. Yabusele

DLo fits our system perfectly. Shooting ability, slashing ability, vision and passing. Mudiay fits none of that. He's a pick and roll type guard.

I don't see the pick getting dealt. Knicks need every bit of cap space this summer. Also the offers for 4 will be pretty crappy.

Oh don't blame Dolan for that
I want to add also that Russell didn't exactly run circles around people in the Tourney. He was his team's best player clearly and one of the best players in the Tourney. But he wasn't doing Larry Johnson stuff out there either.
