Not even the Yankees would be crazy enough to commit 500 million combined to 2 starters. I think the ultimate hope was that Strasburg would wait out Cole who is clearly option 1A so they could try and blow his doors off last minute if Cole spurned them.

He got the contract Yankees were rumored to give Cole. Cole's gonna be expensive.

Cole's contract is about to be insane. I expect possibly a 8 year/$275-280 million at best.

Angels will be a pain in the ass and offer him 10 year. Which is where my earlier post about hating if Cole goes to a losing team is relevant.
