He does not have any lingering injury that we know of. Just flu-like symptoms?

Who is the best sports psychologist in NYC? Someone find them and get them to sit down with Barrett for a few sessions. We have to do something to get him out of this funk. We should spare no expense to get him right!

Barrett has had too many really great games to be a true bust. It's gotta be mental! We gotta figure out what it is that is keeping him from being consistently good every game.

Otherwise, are we just gonna give him away and watch him flourish elsewhere? Screw that, he should kick ass with the Knicks.

We let Porzingis go and now he is coming into his own with the Wizards. I would hate to see us do that again with Barrett.

porzingis actually showed the makings of being a star while he was a knick. hell he got voted in as an all star while he was on his rookie contract here. barrett isn’t the same caliber prospect

Yeah Porzingis looked more like a star in his Knick days than RJ Barrett has.
I have been saying this since RJs summer league debut hell I remember this board saying Mitch will be better two way player then KP.

RJ plays better when it counts……second half of the season. Just watch him take over when we need to make a run at the playoffs. Hopefully the 3 lefties can dominate at the same time consistently.

If we’re not trading Randle… it prob makes sense to find a taker for RJ…

Yup. Was just thinking this during the game. How could you not seriously contemplate that now. Buzzkill Bhaharett blows. The league has could up to him and now he has no answers. I’m done with him.

The whole RJ thing is pretty perplexing. He's had stretches of great play, especially his sophomore season. He's regressed. Clearly most of his issues are mental and confidence related.

RJ has had and still does have potential to be a great player, it's just unclear if he'll ever conquer his mind. It isn't looking great. He should work with a sports psychologist and simplify what he's working on. He spent all this time over the summer working on shooting off the dribble when he should be working on just spot up shooting. He needs to be in the gym shooting 3s over and over until its muscle memory, and stop over thinking every movement.

RJ's role should be nothing more than a 3 & D player.

He can't hit 3's so that's a bit tough.

We should look to use RJ as the main trade chip in a deal for a SF like OG or Ingram. Obviously, we'd have to sweeten the pot with other youth and/or picks. JB + Grimes + OG is a great 1-2-3 pairing and could make us a really good team quite quickly...

RJ's greatest strength right now is driving, pulling in the help defender, bricking his shot, and having a big get an easy put back. Either that or he drives and draws the foul.

At least 3 times every game RJ drives, misses a shot in the paint, and a big cleans it up for an easy 2.

If all RJ did was stay in the gym shooting spot up 3s constantly, it would open up the rest of his game. He has to work so much harder because no one respects his shot making ability.

He's not 3-D. He's drive/kick without the kick.

Looking at RJs volume
Shots per game are identical to Brunson .
RJ is only making 1 less shot per game on same volume .

RJ
6.3 \ 15.6

Brunson
7.3 \ 15.6

The differential here isn’t huge and Brunson has been pretty good AND making more than double than RJ .
It’s only a 1 shot make difference so there’s some silver lining .

Sometimes players are just not good shooters. RJ has no touch at all and his shots clank off the rim consistently.

And if he had 3 more shot makes he's better than Curry. Meaningless numbers. The kid can't shoot. Can't you see that with your eyes? Now you're on this mad defending RJ kick

3 shots ?
That’s a little over the line my man .
Am talking a reasonable differential here.
Now it’s a mad kick because I provide some practical reasoning on a 10M dollar player.
It’s not a mad kick , it’s normal discussion
