Unreal isn't it. This really has nothing to do about the "law" anymore, sure they have their degrees and they wear their robes and look the part but it's really about politics, pure unadulterated politics. The latest addition to the court are conservative radicals and they really don't even try to hide it anymore. When Barrett gave a speech recently about not being a bunch of partisan hacks, to my eye, she was just trolling the libs, you could practically see the grin on her face as she was speaking.

Barrett, Kavanaugh, and Gorsuch each outright lied in their Senate confirmation hearings. There has to be repercussions for doing that. We do need an ethics law or oversight process for the federal courts. Why shouldn’t they be subjected to oversight? It’s a co-equal part of our federal government.

Omicron has changed the shape of the pandemic. Will it end it for good?

"My own view is that it's becoming endemic, and it will continue to stay endemic for some time -- as has happened with other coronaviruses," said David Heymann, professor of infectious disease epidemiology at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
"All viruses try to become endemic, and to me this one looks like it's succeeding," he said.

I hope professor Heymann is right. We all need to hear some positive in these crazy times. However, the fact that so few people around the globe have been vaccinated, makes one wonder about another possible strain or mutation that could throw a wrench into all of this. Let's hope not.

Either way, it is strictly a Lose-Lose proposition for Trump to give testimony. He'll either lie and get busted for perjury or just say the stupid chit he always does except this time under oath and will incriminate himself.

Most people have no clue, but the Jan. 6th committee is going to subpoena him. They'll already signaled their intent to do so. The hope is that Trump is so overconfident or so starved for attention that he'll show up. It would produce fireworks if he did and not in the way he'd hope for.

One thing that is certain, we are seeing more and more people just give up on the Pandemic, literally being done with it. Was watching Bill Maher last night, he and one of his guest on the panel were saying they've been done with it for weeks now, Maher just wants to get back to performing. To hell if hospitals are overflowing, he needs his adulation damn it!

God forbid another variant shows up that is more lethal then Omicron. It would not be pretty.

Was watching Bill Maher last night, he and one of his guest on the panel were saying they've been done with it for weeks now, Maher just wants to get back to performing. To hell if hospitals are overflowing, he needs his adulation damn it!

God forbid another variant shows up that is more lethal then Omicron. It would not be pretty.

Yes, that's who it was, Weiss was just mirroring whatever Maher was saying, she was all onboard with him, I fast forwarded a couple of times, couldn't take it. Being in the middle of Omicron, with hospitals overflowing with patients and health workers being infected and having to take time off from work, it seems like a bad idea to "give up" on the pandemic and act like it's not even happening. As the experts say, if we can hold off for another 2-4 weeks, we should be in a much better place. Representative Torres was the voice of reason, he was far more sensible than the other two.

I used to watch Maher’s HBO show religulously but he’s changed. Or at least appears that way to me.
