Post up,fadeaway,pull up 3 pointer

He is going it be the best SG Melo has ever played with, and possibly the 3rd best guard behind Billups and Iverson

The Knicks might surprises a lot of people if all of the new guys play well together and Melo is 100% healthy
I have them at worst winning 38 wins next season, people don't know how good Melo is when he has actual good "team" players around him

Poor Sprewell in the background, how's he going to feed his family?... :(

I'd rather target Batum this off-season anyway.

Batum would be a great addition. We need smalls that can board and another playmaker/shooter.

Not saying I wouldn't make Batum because he is a great all-around player, but where would y'all like to fit him in on this team? Starting SG and move AA to the bench or designated swingman to come off the bench.

The reason I ask because I expect KP to start at least by the 2016-17 season.

I would play him at the 2 and not worry about Afflalo's decision. Some 3 for a smaller lineup. Batum is better.

Knicks will break the curse once Melo is off the roster and Gallo is back.

I’ve always like Batum. We would have some nice versatility even if Affalo stayed:

Lopez
Melo
Batum
Affalo
Grant

Lopez
Porzingis

I agree, just wondering if that would be the target that many of you would be happy with in 2016 when the cap goes up. A player like him would essentially eat up most of our available cap unless AA and D-Will opt out of their deals.

Deeeez post above is exactly why I'd target Batum in the off-season...versatility (he can also play some small ball PF which he flourished filling in for LaMarcus Aldridge at times). He also gives us options should Afflalo choose to walk, Melo force a deal, Porzingis bust, all while taking potential pressures off guys like Grant and Galloway to make plays out of the backcourt. Judging by the players we signed this off-season, Batum is exactly the type of player Phil covets. 2-way, team-first, character guy who moves the ball and fits the offense.

Ideally, we bring in Mike Conley...but I don't see a scenario in which he leaves Memphis now that they've lock down Gasol. And I'm not sure Horford leaves Atlanta, and if he makes much sense here anyway if we're truly dedicated to developing Porzingis.

Guess it depends what happens, but he may be one of the best realistic targets. Just off the top of my head there's Durant, Horford, Conley...but Batum might be right there after those guys. He's just hitting his prime and would be a great fit in the triangle so I'd be happy with him.

Btw for those interested in the trade Melo motion, the raptors started a poll if they would trade for Melo if he agreed to play there. Honestly kind of interesting that the poll is heavily slated to the "No" option, but there are some logical fans that they would do it in a heart beat for the correct deal.

Some are saying a package revolving around Demar Derozan (realizing he's about to get a mega deal). I seriously doubt Melo would waive his option to play in Toronto but as far as team structure goes, it makes sense (lots of decent players but no superstar; lack go-to option in playoffs)

I am on the "keep Melo" team so I don't have much interest in any of their guys. Just found it interesting that many people on the board didn't want him. The usual slander of "career loser", "ball-hog", and "chucker" are the main combatants of the trade.

Lol at Raptor fans pretending that they wouldn't want Melo...he would be the best player they've had since 2001 by far

lol, they can keep that career loser, ball-hog, chucker Derozan then and overpay him next year.

It's funny because I was thinking the same thing. I mean they did get swept last year...by the wizards of all teams, but we are the team with the "career loser". Also mentioned that Melo even though doesn't have the best playoff record, he still has played and won more playoff games than the franchise. So I definitely think it's odd they would scoff at the idea of Melo.

Let the Raptors enjoy being average. By the way, it's the worst place to be in the NBA.

I know, it's hard to escape being average. But worst (or second worst) sure as hell feels bad.

Even though this season was tough to watch, at least you have hope for the future (draft picks). When you're average, you are likely to remain average.
