Remember they wanted obi for sexton.. what’s with there fascination with bigs.
There line up right now is
Garland
Sexton
Mobley
Lauri- love
Allen
First it was point guards with them now it’s pf/c
It’s funny I wander if they deploy a all big lineup at some point this year

So people are making fun of Nichols who was worried about her job. People were calling her crazy...... but she’s right she just lost her job. It’s a huge double standard out there.
Regardless of the scenario if this happened to anyone on this board how would you react? I think she left with respect

it wouldn't happen to me because I don't run around claiming my co-workers only got hired because of affirmative action and other such moronic statements that are guaranteed to get you fired from a job

Philly might have some issues holding on to the top seeds with a disgruntled malcontent who can't shoot, souring up the locker room. Embiid is their whole team and he's pretty fragile as well.

Let’s speak with nuance and specificity so this situation doesn’t get generalized.
Rachel Nichols wasn’t specifically worried about her job. She was worried and insecure about a black woman getting opportunities. She already had a job, and she was one of the most recognizable names and faces on ESPN. She was worried about Maria Taylor getting an opportunity during the NBA Finals.
She lost her show after Maria Taylor left ESPN, so it’s not like Taylor replaced her. It just goes to show that her comments had consequences, and damaged her brand and career opportunities. It also made it so Taylor got more opportunities but probably couldn’t stay at ESPN.
She also called out her bosses at ESPN during that leak call too, so that might have played a role, but as a woman, maybe she could have also supported Maria Taylor. She also interacts with a league that is majority black.
In conclusion? She was worried about losing opportunities but in the end, Rachel Nichols was the primary reason why she doesn’t have a job at ESPN anymore.

Maybe play all 4 together with Sexton. Call it the Wall. Well, they have to find a way justify Lauri's salary somehow.

Did you even listen to the tape? I’ll begin with I though Rachel was a ok reporter but even if you don’t like her you can’t deny she had the respect from the players and a nice following. If this was flipped you Dam sure know there would have been protest.

Random fun stat: Evan Fournier shot 46.3% from downtown with Boston last year on 5.9 attempts. 41.3% on the year
3 of our projected starters shot over 40% last year with him, Randle, and RJ.
This is a no longer a weakness for us, fckin finally. We have Rose (38.8%), IQ (38.9%) and Burks (41.3%) subbing in
Forgive me if I sound like Mentality with my optimism here

the only thing that could save Cleveland is to sell the franchise to Lebron and friends. seriously. that would be a good thing for the league and Cleveland.

Honestly, I kinda like the Cavs move for Lauri. Love is washed and will probably get bought out this trade deadline and Mobley isn’t going to be able to play the 4 full time. He’s probably going to need sometime to develop his body too. This way he way he can still get minutes as back up 4/5, while that happens. I know we shouldn’t go too crazy with what happened in the summer league but he looked super raw there. No reason to put too much pressure on him if they don’t have too.

Pretty good trade for all 3 teams, Cleveland gets a young versatile stretch big man, Portland gets a good forward to bolster their rotation and Chicago recoups a 1st rounder after trading all their away for the foreseeable future.
Also a 7-9 guy who can barely move around the court is a novelty that a team in a foreign league will sign not an NBA team. At least Boban and Taco have some skills that have some use on an NBA floor but I'm not sure I see it in a guy that can only dunk.... without jumping though.
