He doesn't need a great point guard. He just needs a PG that can shoot and play defense. Hence why his most successful seasons were with an older Jason Kidd and Chauncey Billups. They hit open shots and played D. If you list other point guards he played with in his career (other than Andre Miller his rookie year), you'll throw up. For a recent reference, Mike Conley Jr is an example of a perfect point guard for Melo to play with. Not a superstar, but solid at shooting and defense. But anyway, hopefully we get to see him with Chris Paul.
