I went back and looked at the video and sure enough Vassell was much deeper than @ the 3 line. Is this actually true? No clue - as I couldn't find any clips of Vassell in a game shooting that deep. Will say this though: That makes a helluva lot more sense!

Vassell is back as my top selection (if we stay @ 8)

Not true. Ive never seen him shoot it from behind the head like that ever.

VanVleet suffered the same fate early on, until he got strong enough to carry dudes on his hip. Trae Young took a half season and Terry will face that adjustment too. But like VanVleet and Trae, Terry's shot will win alot of games.

And he doesn't have to change his shot (ahem, ahem), cause he already shoots easily from 23 ft.
The question is, who would you pick to impact a game right away, Tyrell Terry or Kira Lewis Jr.?

Is he still a lottery pick at the end of the day?

I had him around 11-14, I never had him in my top 10, after the lottery people started putting him in the top 10 for reasons I never understood, I thought he was a reach for us even at 8, then people started putting him even higher than that. I mean it's not that big of an insult to have him 11-14. I just don't think he's going to be the shooter people were projecting him as. The recent footage didn't inspire confidence that I am wrong in that prediction

Look how far he's behind the 3 point line... that was this guy's point.... that shot on the video going around is the same shot Vassell has always been taking... WHEN HE'S SHOOTING WELL BEYOND THE 3 LINE and that his form has NOT changed when shooting AT THE 3PT LINE.

Again I couldn't find anything to confirm what this guy stated

If I was a team, I'd continue doing due diligence on that video. The fact that it got sent out shows me that either

1) Vassell was messing around and being stupid, and Vassell needs to fire somebody for doing that to him
or
2) Vassell genuinely thought this video showed some progress
or
3) Mind-games cause he heard the Knicks were interested in him and now he wants to fall

If it weren't covid times, they could clear this up with a quick in-person workout but now...

People need to stop with the knee jerk overreactions based on short clips of players shooting around. I would hope the Knick organization is looking at their body of work and making projections based on that.

That looks like a high school 3 point line though. But even still, I have never even saw him shot it like that from deep like that guy is saying though. That guy should show some footage of that

I agree that you shouldn't overreact too much to a workout video on twitter/IG, but if you're the Knicks you HAVE TO use one of your 10 workout on Vassell to see that jumper in person

I had a bit of concern about his high release and whether the 40+% he shot from 3 would translate, but still thought he'd be a good shooter, and the video w/ that release definitely gives me pause

If he felt he needed to make a mechanical change, it could mean that his form wasn't adjusting well to the 3 point line, which is concerning. might take a couple years to get his shot right from NBA 3, but they need to work him out to see for sure

It would be super easy for them to debunk it by just showing some other footage of him NOT shooting it that way, or record a new video, they haven't and that's sus
