Hoffa, GM of the Charlotte Hornets signed them all. Despite having Ja Morant and Fred Van Fleet already on his roster.

He now can field the first 5 PG roster in basketball history.

It really depends what he's trying to do. If he's committed to a full youth movement then I get it but LMA and Rose and Vucevic and Bogdanovic aren't exactly spring chickens. Not sure I see a direction. Siakam is a better win now piece imo. He had a golden opportunity to build a legit contender

I think I mentioned before he was straddling the fence a bit with the move but I think he believes the Morant/FVV boost plus a couple of those other moves in FA will put him in the convo. I like you don't think that puts him into the top dog convo with Brooklyn and those other top teams in the east.

But he decided to cash in on Siakam now before getting into a bidding war next year and potentially losing him for nothing so I understand it but it probably did hurt his championship asperations this year for sure. I still think that team has enough talent to make the playoffs though.

I don't know, I'm competitive and don't care about spending fake money that isn't real so I would have went for it now and worry about Siakam later. He's 26 not 36. He's still sitting on over 200 in cap space and a dried up free agent pool. It's not like he needed to sacrifice players to open up flexibility, no he had a ton of cap space going into free agency and already quality depth on the roster. Idk maybe it pays off for him later but right now I think he could have done a lot better

So idk, he had a lot to work with and doesn't look like he made much of an improvement to the roster, kind of went lateral at best yet he was one of the teams I really thought had an opportunity to shake up the Eastern Conference and emerge as a big time threat to those stacked teams at the top.

Like I said you could have gotten all the guys you already got minus Edwards and still kept the guys you lost. Looking at what you lost compared to what you brought in, it looks like you didn't really move anywhere and if anything maybe took a step back

Siakam should have a better SIM rating, you could of said the same thing last season too. I just like comfort of knowing there is no guessing with LMA he has produced in the SiM to all NbA levels. Also morant gave me pretty good sim value for the 2nd overall pick last year, if edwards is similar i should be pretty good as the programmers are going of pretty limited sample size on these college kids

Every single player in my rotation with the exception of ariza will likely be 3 stars or more as well.

Siakam was never a dud in the SIM he was a dud on your team because you had a bunch of guys on your team who needed shots and his scoring output the year Kawhi was there was 17 PPG on only 12 shots a game. The Siakam you waited for is arriving in this years SIM

He sold low on Siakam.
Could have easily let him play out the first part of the season before the deadline and establish an evident SIM boost then move him at the deadline and secure a 2021 lottery pick or young talent.

I just found it hard to turn down the 2nd overall pick, no matter the weakness of the draft for an expiring contract. Siakam and JJJ would just not work long term

2nd overall pick in a draft he himself admitted was weak. 2021 is a way deeper draft with more franchise talent at the top as well.
