The Knicks are too far away from contending for a championship.

If they could just become respectable in the eyes of NBA players - and the players who will enter the league in the years to come - for an extended stretch by playing good basketball and by making the playoffs a few years in a row, it will be a positive development for this franchise.

The Knicks have been a joke for far too long. They are the cultural symbol of losing. They need to shed that.

'Knowing that you're going after' a player on another team under contract for years isn't guaranteed anything so why not get the guy who's right there in front of you, just came off a conference finals run in which he was a major reason they got there instead of hope and pray you can get someone maybe...possibly if everything goes just right.

I think the idea that Brunson wanted a larger role is overblown, Brunson is a winner, he wants to win and will do whatever is needed for him to help the team win. Of course, that makes you wonder why he'd leave Dallas and Luka for NYK then.... that's the money angle and then there's the familia angle which may be the strongest of them all.

The Wahhndle for Westbrick trade always seemed like destiny if we actually wanted to trade Julius.

Ill believe it when I see it tho. Everything still points to Julius staying, at least for a while to recoup some value.

Thing is I dont see Julius’ value going up much here compared to many of our other players, unless he completely changes his game and attitude. May as well just get rid of him now then to play Obi more, who already has the type of off-ball game and team attitude needed.

Randle thinks this is his team and he's way too arrogant to let that go. Mitchell and him would not mesh well.

Randle is a Dolan favorite, can't see him going anywhere.

He's going to do the same thing with them that he's done with everyone else, he's going to try and play a two man game with whoever has the ball at the time. He'll do DHO, then post up taking away any driving lane either could have, he'll do DHO and with so little time on the clock they have to shoot, and he'll set screens hoping he gets the ball back and never actually rolling to the rim.

This backcourt will need a "Go stand in the corner" player at the 4 more than anything else.

Not to mention after turning this draft's #11 into three 1sts and the cap space to sign Brunson. So Mitchell would only really cost them 2-3 1sts while also dumping Randle/Fournier plus adding Brunson/Hart.

If that is the Knicks off season there are very few fans or media that could justifiably criticize Rose especially if they were able to keep their youth, like RJ, Obi and IQ.
