I was out and missed everything but the main and co-main...But at least I got to see two potential stars.

Pantoja really doesn't get his proper respect. He's smoked the 125 lbs division in a way that calls back to the greatest champs of all time. Mighty Mouse, Jon Jones, GSP, and Anderson Silva cleaned out divisions. It used to be rare for anyone to jump divisions, and the real accomplishment was owning the division. We got versions of that from Usman and Izzy after, but everyone else has been more focused on division hopping. The cool part is that he has two more interesting opponents on the docket...Josh Van and Kyoji Horiguchi.

Speaking of Jon Jones, watching Ilia Topuria smoke aging stars Volk, Max, and Oliveira in quick succession is the most "young Jones" coded thing I've seen in MMA. LHW had a bunch of stars, and Jones arrived to clear them out. Topuria had less stars to clean up at 145, but he's chasing the names by moving to 155. Also, just like Jones, I don't see too many fighters with skillsets that could upset him. Islam moved up, and the next batch of guys have bad striking defense. The only intrigue is if Arman can wrestle his way to a decision.

The rest of the card is cool. Talbott proved he's still an interesting prospect; Van beating Royval on short notice is crazy; Moicano ruined another parlay of mine.

Either way, Ilia needs to get star treatment. Islam missed out on his best potential fight in the UFC by moving up. Now hopefully the UFC can get the heavier divisions moving so we can have more exciting cards and matchups.
