We'd do great with a motivated Davis. Arguably a better fit than Chauncey.

No coach can teach Amare how to pass. Melo's a MAYBE. But even then that's gonna be pretty tough. This isn't a 1-on-1 league.

Amare is a bad passer now?

Our backcourt is putrid.

That seems unnecessarily harsh when we've got Douglas and Fields, both of whom played very well at times in the backcourt, and on top of that we drafted a promising combo-guard. We do need a veteran point guard, but there's some exaggerating going on.

shumperts has never played and is not known. douglas is a bench gunner. fields had 2 okay months and was lost the rest and isnt a guard. rautins is awful. carter was awful. mason was awful. hes right. we got nobody. its just truth. we got not one guard that is starter worthy.

Can't imagine Davis wouldn't in motivated and ready to play with the guys we have. For a min deal, have to be ok with that, wait on Nash next season for MLE.

I don't get why people are so stressed out about needing a point guard. Look at what the Lakers have been doing with a big front line and Derek Fischer.
Play time is over.

Baron is clearly our best option, whether he's in immediate shape or not, he comes here ill be happy for the time being.

Chandler
Amare
Melo
Fields

In a Mike D'Antoni offense, the point guard is the most important position.

Not just bad. Terrible to the tenth degree. That's not even a question. Have you never seen him play?

Mitch Kupchak ('~'): We'll give you Matt Barnes and Steve Blake for Dwight Howard
Otis Smith: I don't know about that.

I still love this signing.

We filled our biggest need which also happens to be the most difficult thing to find in the NBA. A legit 7' defensive C. 3rd place for DPOY award.

All we gave up was Billups and Turiaf. They probably wouldnt even make it through half the season. There wasn't anytone better to spend our cap space.

PG? We could probably trade Fields and get a decent pg. If Nash's leaving anyway, maybe they even take Fields, TD and filler for Nash. Unlikely, but you never know

We have some time to fill it. I have a feeling there will be even more options out there though then people realize.

I feel like you guys are just lashing out that Lakers made a coup and won the CP3 sweepstakes.

TKF is right on this one: When in the history of the NBA has a team had the assets to trade for not one, but two superstars in one season? We were a longshot for CP3 with all our assets gone and only $13M in cap space. The same can now be said about the Lakers and Dwight.

Lakers don't have any cap space, have only Bynum as an asset (overrated and not going to get them Dwight), and thankfully, Orlando isn't owned by the NBA or run by a former Laker. They aren't gifting Dwight to LA, and he can't sign there as a FA.

I'd bet money that Dwight won't be a Laker. There's only one way I can conceivably see it happen...and that's if the Lakers amnesty Kobe, clearing his $25M salary, and then signing Dwight.

Dallas said they weren't interested in Billups.

Please read what I wrote.... DAllas sign Chandler and trade him to us for Turiaf... can it happen under the cap saying Chandler's salary starts at about 12 or so? That way we can keep Billups at anassett to get CP3... does that sign & trade work under the cap?

Turiaf only makes $4 mil. The numbers aren't even on the same planet.

Again. Shumpert is perfectly fine at PG if we went there.

We do not need a star PG to win. If he knows the plays, can pass to Melo and Amare to let them Iso and do their thing then we're fine.

We will have that ugly iso offense that Miami and Chicago has now, and even with Chandler, we aren't the defensive squads those teams are. I mean, we're closer now, but it's the potential lack of offensive efficiency that's killing me. I guess we better get used to Amare and Melo diving into double teams again.

we don't know yet.. I hope that isn't the case, but lets see what NY does about a PG.. just a day ago we didn't see this move coming at all...

"Unknown" is completely different from "putrid." And he's not completely unknown. The Knicks drafted him because they felt they could project him as a good player.

Douglas may be destined to be a bench player, but he's played very well at times and the jury is still out on him.

Saying Fields had "an okay 2 months" is ludicrous. He was outstanding for a large stretch of the season.

I have no idea why you're even bringing up Rautins plus 2 players that aren't on the team to make a point.
