Re: 2020 Presidential Election (All Serious POVs Welcome)
Trump literally said the transition of power will be ugly yesterday when he was directly asked if he'd see the results of the election as legitimate. Like at what point last night did it seem like Trump expected to leave office? At what point did it seem like Trump was expecting to keep his office through winning the election democratically?

Listen people on the left have been setting the alarm for the past 4 years, back in 2016 when people were warning what Trump would lead to and begging to vote for Clinton. The problem started when enough Americans decided to allow this absolute lunatic gain power.
The left can scream as much as they want to, but Republicans DON’T GIVE A ****. There’s not a single person in Congress that will stand up to him. Everyone in the government is a Trump sycophant. The headlines in the media are still trying to play a both sides argument. The light has been flashing red for years. Democrats in Congress have no power because there’s another party in Congress the refuses to hold the President accountable. This is what a failed state looks like.
It doesn’t matter man, this was a mistake made by the voters and the only peaceful way to resolve this is to vote Trump and Republicans in the Senate out and do it decisively so Trump can shut the **** up.

It is simple as few if us have said if you support trump and his hate then you have no excuse you enabled this and are just as responsible for every death every lie he has told and will tell. You can not shake the devils hand and say you were only kidding. You (trump supporters)may not hate someone based on their skin or religion but because you support someone who does you are just as guilty for not speaking out for your values. It is time to call out this hate and the lies and if you are quiet and allow it you are guilty of the same crimes

When he, a minute later, said he wants what he's calling his Army For Trump to monitor polling stations was that not a call to mobilize? What was it exactly if not that?
No, I don't believe he is actively mobilizing militia. He was requested to say "stand down" but he didn't want to say that terminology and put off his supporters so he mixed up words a bit.
And you are suggesting you are going to go and have physical confrontations with people now. Maybe just go vote and contribute to a change in president instead?

Trump acknowledging them and telling them to stand by (legitimizing them as his army aka a paramilitary) is so clearly blatant anyone that can't recognize this is deserving of whatever fascist America has planned for them.

As well as not specifically accepting the results of the election. Coming from a moderate, you can have an issue with voting fraud and I'm sure it goes on plenty on both sides. But to not accept the results is simply unconstitutional. Major concern with that and very valid point. Something I had major problems with!

We don't need Republicans to care. They obviously care more than we do, but they're openly fascists at this point. Democrats definitely have power. At the end of the day we're a majority of the people. We just clearly don't care enough about stopping fascism as they do about enacting it by any means necessary.
You're saying the only solution is to vote him out but again he's openly saying he will not leave office. ON THE DEBATE STAGE. Biden responded to this by basically ignoring him saying that. Again I feel like I'm in bizarro world or something here. Voting at this point is not going to get him out of office alone and the sooner we recognize that the sooner we can combat the fascist takeover he's pretty blatantly and openly planning and alluding to.

Re: 2020 Presidential Election (All Serious POVs Welcome)
The debate was a disgrace. I don't think either side helped themselves much. Trump might have gotten what he wanted in encouraging the Proud Boys, using massive exaggerations about mail-in ballots and telling his base to watch polling places like that won't lead to harassment of minorities from the white supremacists that he avoided denouncing again.
Biden looked competent when he could get a word in edgewise. But Trump managed to keep him from getting his vision across well. So Biden went in the economic values of the green new deal and pushed justice reform ideals that dovetail with the defund movement...while also rejecting both movements...I'll take it, the theory getting through is more important than the slogans surviving imo. If anything, my biggest complaint on Biden is in missing some opportunities. Trump screaming about Hunter Biden a week after the Senate investigation turned up a goose egg all night should have been shut down easily (they had to play 6 degrees of separation just to connect dots and try to draw that BS 3.5 million dollar Moscow figure Trump kept hyping).
Idk what level of cognitive dissonance has to be reached in order for a person to just ignore what Trump was doing last night. He got asked about race and ranted on "Law and Order." He continued to push "Law and Order" repeatedly after that while refusing to acknowledge that anyone but "Antifa" and the "radical left" are responsible for violence in this country. Then he has the "Stand back and stand by" moment which is blatant. The only other things that stood out from his performance was trying to sell voter fraud and trying to link Biden to treason...aka get the base angry; claim the election was invalid; tell that angry base to defend the country from treasonous thieves (and dog whistle that the treason is being driven by people of color).
I think the Dems should cancel the rest of the debates. No reason to give Trump that podium to try and push his lunacy and fearmongering more. I doubt that debate helped Biden much; it probably didn't hurt him electorally either but that just leaves Trump on a bully pulpit to push more barely veiled racism to a broader audience. It's not worth it and I realize that Trump will turn around and call Biden scared...but I think we should sincerely question the intelligence of anyone who believes that more debates are going to add value to this election after what we just witnessed.

Yeah you're the man that said I was overreacting to our sitting president saying he's not leaving office and telling right wing militias to stand by. My b though, you do have a life to get to but I'd like a response because I really want to hear how it's an overreaction at this point to say Donald Trump is openly fascist and calling for a fascist take over of the country.

If the debate did not help either candidate that is not a bad thing for Biden if the polls are correct. Just reflecting on the debate I may give Biden a slight edge. Not so much for anything he attempted to say, rather Trump making a fool of himself.

What part of, "I think this [the election] will end up in the Supreme Court, and I think it's very important that we have nine justices," or, "it [transition of power] will be very ugly," makes you think voting alone will get him out of office? Again this is why we deserve it. Voting is the bare minimum, and if the fascist is doing more than the bare minimum what TF will voting do to help?
And why didn't he want to say stand down? Maybe because he didn't want them to stand down? Like he followed that up by saying "someone needs to do something about ANTIFA" and a minute later on the next topic was saying he wants his followers to "monitor the polls". Like I'm being dead serious right now why are you just ignoring what he'd directly saying? Is every left wing person in America deaf? Biden was on stage next to him pretending he didn't say what he said at all.

Re: 2020 Presidential Election (All Serious POVs Welcome)
I can't say Trump has done everything wrong, I think we needed a hard stance with China and also immigration reform (but certainly not the way he did it). That said, I just don't see how people can look past the fact he is a racist.
I have a tough time reconciling this with the people/family I know that support Trump. I just explain it to myself as they are uneducated and don't realize it, however, it seems to be so obvious it is tough for me to keep using that to forgive their viewpoint. I did grow up in Staten Island, it's packed with them.

Re: 2020 Presidential Election (All Serious POVs Welcome)
Anyone saying the debate didn't help Trump is still of the mind that he wants to win or thinks he can win democratically. Trump clearly won the debate. He came out as openly fascist, basically said he's going to be president another 4 years at least no matter what, and no one with the power to stop him cares. This was basically his mask off moment and it seems like the only people taking his message 100% seriously are the last people we want to take his message seriously (his paramilitary). The Proud Boys' new slogan is "Standing By". He got his message across exactly how he wanted to.

It is simple:
1) He is pandering to his racist supporters
2) He expects to lose and wants to blame it on something besides his own failure (rigged voting)
He is not actually mobilizing militia activity. People overreacting to this is going to give Trump supporters what they want - look the looney Dems are at it again!

1) I don't think refusing to leave office has anything to do with his racism.
2) He can say the ballots are rigged without saying he won't accept defeat. He could say "hey they're going to rig the election but I'll respect the results" but he's not doing that.
3) What about him actually calling for his voters to watch polls? How is that not a call to mobilize? How is "someone needs to do something about ANTIFA" when discussing white wing militias not a call to mobilize? A call to mobilize can also be pandering.
4) Why should we believe Trump is planning to leave office when he's openly saying to everyone who can hear he's not and that he's going to bring the election to the stacked SCOTUS for them to give him the presidency?
I feel like you're ignoring his actual words here. Like all of them. You're just making **** up you believe he will do and mean.
