my guess is the nets want to compete this season and convince KD to stay. thats why they preferred the mavs offer over russ+both picks (if that was even on the table)

looks like they freed up enough for a max slot this summer.

they would have to let rui go. which makes no sense, but we will see. I fully expected kyrie+x to lakers for russ+two firsts

KD gonna ask out next

That goes without saying. I am assuming they didn’t take the Lakers deal to avoid putting Russ with KD again.

Nets make me feel good to be a Knicks fan

They got a 1st round pick.....In 2029!

Lol You do realize the Lakers only have picks in 2027 and 2029?

We got back a guard who shouldn’t have left and added a very good 3&D wing next to Royce, Claxton. Opening a roster spot by moving Morris.

Worked out well compared to that horrible Lakers package with Russ.

my bad I was referring to the mavs.

and I have no idea what the lakers plan on doing they've essentially wasted Bron's last few years.

That return seems awfully light. But I guess Kyrie Irving being a flake hurts long term value.

It could very well be a rental. I doubt he extends in Dallas.

Kyrie is a savage lol

The trade demand was so well timed that it threw the Nets in scrabble mode knowing they wouldn’t be able to bargain with teams with only a week left before the deadline. He put them completely behind the 8 ball basically telling them get some assets for me now or you won’t get shyt in the summer.

He still goes to a team where he can compete for a chip while screwing over the Nets with that weak return they got and KD will be next

Kyrie you the real MVP

just saw your window to compete for a championship killed and needed to run to the knicks board to tell us you're happy about it. sad times.

Did the Lakers not offer both 1sts? Or did the nets just not want to send him there?

Realistically, only a fool would trade for Kyrie so this is probably as good as it gets, especially since the Clippers were offering complete ass.

Either way, Leon Rose may want to consider clearing cap for Luka, who is going to ask out once Kyrie sets fire to the place. It's not a matter of if lol

Seems cheap. We got more for kp then yall got for a top 20 player like irving

Yeah but compare KP's value at the time to Kyrie's now.

The other alternatives were taking back Westbrook or John Wall. Nope.

The 2029 unprotected pick looks good on paper. Wouldnt bet against Luka though, Kyrie will be long gone by then. They got 3 second rounders.

I would have taken the two Lakers future picks and run.

Now that Kyrie is off the table, we should be seeing a lot more action now

Return to New York Knicks
