Goddamn it. I swear I heard him calling some game a few weeks back, he sounded like his old self.
Rest well Big man.

Same, never heard any bad stuff about Bill. To me he's always been Luke's often silly and hilarious stoner Dad who used to hoop in the 70s and waved towels for the Celtics in the 80s.

I hope that we can finally dispense with all of the nauseous KAT trade talk.

This is why it was weird for me why they chose to tank out of the playoffs last year. Even with a lower seed, if you have Luka and Kyrie in the postseason, you always have a shot. No sense to tank for a lottery pick. But it did pay off for them to get Lively.
Because despite how insanely gifted they were offensively they realized that they needed defensive balance within the constrains of. their limited flexibility. You cant blame them I guess....but at the same time it seemed like a very " low rent" move. No one will remember though...they'll just remember the championship that they will win this season.
Those trades they made for G afford and that Charlotte Hornets dude really is what put them over the edge.
Gafford trade was robbery.
First of all, why OKC helping but not taking Gafford? They send a late 1st for future draft pick exchange. They could've simply send their pick to Wizards to get a solid backup C for rebounding, rim protection, setting screens. Instead they helped Dallas again. First with Lively and now Gafford.
Secondly, why Wizards trading him for just a late 1st round pick of a bad year? Young athletic rim protecting center with a reasonable contract.
For PJ, Mavs paid a 1st round pick but they also offloaded Grant Williams contract. That contract wasn't too high so its not an unbalanced deal but still a cheap one to get PJ. PJ is undersized for PF but if you have Lively-Gafford at C, that becomes manageable with his athleticism.
DJJ and Exum on vet min were also very good signings. I am aware Exum is not playing in playoffs much but still its a minimum deal. You roll the dice.

Partly on Denver and Malone.
Kidd and T.Lue showed many times on how to expose Gobert in last few years. Even KAT is a known choker. They could've done better with adjustments.

At this point our FO should have the common sense to roll the dice on Randle doing well in the playoffs rather than taking on more salary for KAT
It will have to be a blockbuster trade to move Randle now anyway and that someone is probably not going to be KAT with the series he's having

Brilliant team building by Dallas front office. Making the most of everything at their disposal. If they didn’t get all of Gafford, PJ, or Jones Jr, they wouldn’t be one win from finals. And all those guys were available to any team.

To me they got even more than what they needed. They went from being very weak at the Center position to it being a strength. They also got a legit 3rd option PJ for scraps. You throw in the other guys and its just icing. Its crazy that Hardaway isn't even playing right now. They are beyond loaded

The greatest shooting big man ever shooting 4-32 3P in the last 5 games
I think KAT went from Minny saying "he's going nowhere we're building around him and Ant for the next 2-3 years at least" before WCF G1 to "we'll take 80 cents on the dollar" now Mavs are up 3-0 because of his contract.
Celtics going to the Finals this year may be the easiest road ever... all teams they beat were/ are missing their best player (Jimmy/ DMitch / Hali).

I can't believe our season ended because of Numbskull
Think about it if he hadn't hit that shot in G3 (shot that after he made his face said it all "I can't believe it went in, I just threw it up lol"), we'd most likely have won to go up 3-0 and most likely won the series 4-0 or at least 4-1... avoiding G6 (Hart's abdomen injury) and G7 (forcing OG to play prematurely likely aggravating his hamstring, and of course JB's hand)... we'd have been in pretty good shape against C's.. then OG probably comes back in G3 of ECF or G5... I really think we could beat them even without Ju, Mitch and Bojan to go to Finals damn damn damn damn
If you have read The Winner Effect book, it says winning is a momentum as you win get early result, you are likely to win and win more... (losing is also a momentum going the opposite way)... credit to Numbskull he took that big shot and run it's been his confidence builder since

That 3 pointer he hit made me nauseous. But let’s face it, we would’ve gotten shutout by the Celtics. I’m glad that I didn’t have to watch that.
