It means "End of Story" in newspaper articles.

He went out with a whimper, not a bang.

His last Woj Bomb was Okoro.
His next to the last Woj Bomb was the game changing signing of Landry Shamet.

If Kurt Cobain had died at 47 instead of 27 Nirvana likely isn't as well regarded as it is today. Cobain never had a bad album. Of course there were only 3 Nirvana albums.

If U2 had called it quits after 'The Joshua Tree' they'd be up there with the Beatles.

One band that actually did it right was 'The Police'. They only recorded 5 albums with each h selling more than the one before. They called it quits after 'Synchronicity' when they were the biggest band in the world. They were only together for 7yrs.

It's sort of the curse of being a public figure.

Lawsuit against James Dolan for sexual trafficking in relationship to Harvey Weinstein has been dismissed with Prejudice (can’t be brought again).

Meanwhile, Harvey Weinstein is currently serving 23 years for multiple crimes.

There are some good spots for higher end drinks and food and good dives but not really great clubs... the show I was at is a really nice venue... but the walking dead thing is definitely true. There are junkies everywhere in a way you just don't see elsewhere in the country on the west coast. They kinda come over to you and razz you too though are all in all harmless. Seattle and California cities are like that too though Cali is more pocketed.

There are also a lot of really nice neighborhoods in Portland but the downtown is jarring if you're not used to seeing open opioid abuse. The last few years were particularly bad because all drugs were decriminalized with few resources being put into recovery programs. They've since rolled back those laws.

I'm all for decriminalized drugs and not punishing people for having substance abuse problems but you can't just have it like the wild wild west either. Wow I had no idea it was like that.

Yes. Portugal did it but had way more cultural/societal safeguards including universal healthcare.

It's pretty wild for sure. And I think part of what they're leaving unspoken there is that most of the people on the streets are white and younger.

I literally _never_ go downtown unless there's a show or something. Other than passing through frequently on one of my bike routes I don't think I've gone to downtown Portland to be downtown since right before the pandemic started for the Chinese New Year parade. Even before my lifestyle changed with kids I didn't much. The cool stuff about the City, which there's a TON of, is more spread out.

My oldest moved to portland a couple years ago. And I've had a different experience when going downtown. Sure it's a lil rough. Saw some people smoking foils, but I've seen people banging dope downtown where I live, (Bellingham). I enjoy the night life diversity and the food. The thing that surprised me the most about downtown portland is that they've privatized their police force. Most downtown stores have security guards strapped up. Which tbh, felt really fcking weird. Anyways, I kinda love portland. It's a weird big lil city.

Though I think my favorite place to go lately in Vanvouver BC. That city is gorgeous fun though expensive af. And if youre looking for some fun wild night life - Its top tier. Though it's been a min since your boy could fully appreciate that aspect. But if a band/event is hitting Seattle and Vancouver we choose the latter.

Woj retiring to "help" his alma mater is cool as hell.

Hopefully he can really enjoy it.

He wrote that being "on call" 24/7 for breaking news left him with about 3 hrs/night in basketball season. He couldn't stand it physicially much longer, so when this became available, he took it. Also, I get the impression he wasn't very happy appearing in videos all the time with Stephen A. Hole Smith.

Portland has so many great qualities, but strung out junkies is a drag. I haven't lived in NYC for a long time, but I remember the one time I visited San Francisco I said to myself "man this place smells like piss. Even NYC in the 80s was never this bad"

Soul Coughing man. Brings back an era for me. Good show to see

They ended with that one.

Indeed the east coast cities were never as conspicuous.

The feds confiscated over 300 TB of CCTV footage of his rape parties. I had to do a double take when I saw that.

I wanted to start an OT thread on this subject badly but I thought I'd better not
