No it isn't. This KAT trade doesn't improve us, now our bench sucks, our starting 5 hasn't really improved, and we have 2 of the 3 worst contracts in basketball.

Randle could've been moved later. He could've been let go and we'd be able to resign guys while staying under the second apron, maybe literally any other trade opens up. Maybe Kawhi wants out. We literally don't know what other options would've become available, all we do know is trading for KAT means no other options are available and we're giving MVP money to a guy you guys are holding to Julius Randle standards.

As great as Donte was for us, a bench shooter is a dime in a dozen in this league. A stretch big who happens to be one of the best 3 point shooters at his position of all time, is not.

Also, Kawhi? Isn’t he coming off another knee surgery this summer? And who’s to say the Clippers were even interested in taking on Randle?

If this was true we'd have another one on the roster wouldn't we?

Anyone a bit concerned on how Towns took the trade news? His IG post and then showing up to an event 12 hours later decked out in Wolves gear?! I know its a shock when you get traded but with this dudes history of being soft I'm hoping his emotional state is ready to embrace NY. Last thing we need is a disgruntled star creating drama and locker room tension. This unit has been really gelling last couple of seasons and they don't need that noise right now.

Expiring contract. Which means extension talks are coming soon. He’s going to get paid way more than that 20 million he’s getting this season very soon.

Actually, I just checked. Turner can’t even be extended until the end of the season. Meaning he could potentially be lost for nothing. Because yes, he’s going to get ridiculous contract once he hits the open market as an UFA.

Their vision is the ONLY way. They know better than the front office. Their opinion negates what the REAL GM of the KNICKS knows about a player's intent, health, etc.

Probably should've just hung on to Randle until someone better was available (they always are). Randle was finally ok with just being a guy which is what held him back all this time. Even me the biggest Randle hater was impressed.

I don’t know what else Randle could have gotten or not gotten. I didn’t want Randle here either. But it feels like we took an unnecessary risk. 60% of your salary cap going to OG and KAT doesn’t seem very efficient or smart in any form.
