The best thing to come from this is Knicks fans trying to downplay how good Brandon Jennings is going to be.

Brandon Jennings is going to be a good player no doubt, but he is not a Knick. We have a point guard in Ray Felton to root for, so how about Knick fans enjoy that? We missed Ty Lawson, Jrue Holiday and Darren Collison should we be crying about that to?
Fact is Brandon Jennings had a solid rookie year, nothing to cry about.

The best thing from this is how you've been down playing how good Knicks players will be as well as the Knicks team in general. But you'll disappear by then only to pop up to troll with another screen name and not have to answer to your accusations. I'll still be here as will many of these other posters will. Will you? Or will you slide into the darkness like a coward?

okay ... he made the knicks respectable enough that basically everyone is penciling the knicks as a top 8 team in the east for the upcoming year.
Penciling in the Knicks? Really? C'mon man you need to be more realistic than that. There are 6 teams that at this point should be penciled in. Miami, Orlando, Boston, Atlanta, Chicago, and Milwaukee. Those six teams have proven they can do it and have only improved their rosters/haven't made any moves to slow them down this season.
I am not a NY fan, but I will say your team has obviously made moves that appear to be sending your team in a positive direction. But just because your team doesn't appear to be as bad as last year or the year before or whenever doesn't mean "everyone" is penciling them into the top 8.
It's fine to be a fan of your team, but be realistic man.

Pure point guard skills?
I thought this was a conversation about Brandon Jennings.

Fair point. If you want to say that Isiah's situation was worse than Walsh's because of Dolan, then I can't really argue against that.
Layden did a horrible job and left a mess than needed some cleanup (but Dolan's approval), and Isiah did a horrible job and left a mess than needed even more cleanup (but Dolan was willing to cooperate). I think that's pretty accurate.
yeah i don't buy what you guys are saying. dolan is delusional like all malignant narcissists but essentially thomas wanted another gig and he told dolan what dolan wanted to hear. it's called throwing good money after bad. thomas is supreme at this.
and if you think that crawford and randolph are winners you are out of your mind. you can't build a winner around these types of players. it never has worked and never will. they weren't merely overpaid. they make their teams worse not better no matter what their salaries.

Well Isiah did no wrong, so why should he get any blame? I mean it was a process to get rid of Layden's garbage, dealt with NY pressure and had to work for Dolan. What Walsh has done was a piece a cake and anyone old man could have slept for two years and done what he did.
isiah did wrong the minute he promised to deliver a playoff team to a malignant narcissist-- are you kidding me?

awards and trophies and shiny stuff have nothing to do with winning. nothing. only winning-- being an integral part of a winning team-- counts for anything.

exactly. which is why all of the pats on the back walsh is getting is crazy. he's done nothing but let contracts expire, trade away two potential lottery picks...and overpaid amare, felton, duhon, etc. and his winning percentage as knicks GM is no better than zeke's.

donnie put together random players to get under the cap, he was not supposed to win -until now-, Zeke actually treid to win... but it seems like u just want to hate, anyway
PS: Crawford was a big part of the hawks, obviously a winning team! Zach was a big part in MEMPHIS(!!!) they almost made the Playoffs in teh west...
Its like people should judge the knicks record and the work of donnie and mike after this season. Because this offseason the real JOB of Coach and GM started...
im bout dat action boss

Just stop it please. Walsh did the very best that he could in this situation. The mess that he inherited left him with few alternatives other than rebuilding the way he did. He has not overpaid anyone. Amar'e wasn't getting anything less than the max. If he didn't get it from us, another team would of offered.
Duhon was overpaid? No he just sucked. Felton is not overpaid either but since you are so "good" at determining value, what would you offer these guys?

Really? Please bring up some posts from that time where Isiah was bashed hardly during his first two years. Heck, almost all of the posters here who were around at the time were Isiah supporters and were busy rationalizing his moves.

again, just answer this--in 2008 would you have fired Isiah? after losing season after losing season (2 record tying number of losses, btw), a disaster of a roster and payroll, having just settled a sexual harassment suit, would you have fired him?

sounds very similar to what isiah-defenders were saying years ago.
no one offered amare the max, but the knicks. you know that.

i would have fired isiah in early 2006, because of the PR nightmare and to save his image, even if he didn't want me to...for his own good. I'm dead serious. The NYC media has HEAVILY influenced the perception of Isiah, Dolan and the Knicks. The knicks were ALREADY a laughing stock, but somehow it became unbearable to have them be bad under isiah. guys like lupica, vaccaro, lawrence, berman, etc. were INCENSED and they wrote GARBAGE. radio spewed GARBAGE. and bill simmons led the nation outrage over at ESPN.
Not a full two years into his reign, isiah was already getting hate. the circus didn't actually start until LARRY BROWN. that's when it became a joke and i would have fired isiah, because the media sided so firmly with brown and everything about isiah was open to being rewritten to prove that brown was a better man and basketball mind. isiah was no longer the guy who drafted damon, vince, camby, mac...he was the guy who RUINED the raptors, which is such a lie, i still am shocked that KNOWLEDGABLE basketball fans let that slide. then, he RUINED the CBA, which was ALREADY on the verge of bankruptcy and a running joke...why do you think the CBA owners so eagerly sold to Isiah? but, you'd swear that thing was a cash cow. and the WORST of it was the BLATANT lies about his time as pacers coach. PLAYOFFS, all three years, with a young team that he BUILT.

Wow...really...
Are you really that dense? If we weren't as serious about getting Amar'e, another team would of. A team like Chicago or New Jersey could of EASILY offered him the max if we didn't decide that he was our man.
I can't believe you don't understand that.

Re: I bet Zeke pushed for Jennings....
It would be nice to have Brandon Jennings, but under a D'Antoni run offense you need a distributor not a scorer to run the PG.
