Anyone remember where the link was (or where it was reported in) where, when Melo was asked whether he'd consider Houston, he said essentially "to do what? rap?"

I recall him being asked if he heard the music telling him to go to Houston and he responded by asking whether it was in rap music.

Someone check that incarcenatedbobs twitter, he always comes up with some B.S. that stirs everyone up.
With Gallo upping his scoring recently, it goes to show you that this team has problems beyond just a scorer. My hope is Melo could have the ball more and take pressure off of Felton (so he doesn't have to be a scorer). This leaves us with the big issue with this team, can we defend and rebound consistently?

from Bucher's chat fr you guys:
Bukes, saw you at the Nets/Nuggets game Monday night looking sharp as always! I think Denver dropped the ball, and is going to be uber-desperate come the week of the deadline. Any chance that the Nets can work a deal in which they don't include Favors? And would that change Melo's potential stance on signing an extension with the Nets? Thanks Ric.

JD, like myself, doesn't know how to put umlauts on vowels. If anyone out there knows the trick, please let us know.Denver would love to do a deal with New Jersey. That's not what this is about. Nor is it about Melo not thinking NJ is good enough for him. He has been put in a completely unfair position, because he never brought up New Jersey. He has one team in mind: the Knicks. That's where he'd like to play. Others -- the Nuggets, Melo's reps -- have muddied the water, but he's the one who has to answer for it.Ultimately, what I'm hearing is that the likeliest scenario now is that he doesn't get traded until, A) after the season to the Knicks or B) simply signs with them as a free agent.

Honestly, I'm down for that
Denver trying to leverage Melo into keeping his word that he wouldnt try and screw Denver or the fans. And of course by keeping him through the deadline there is always a chance that he signs the 3/65.
Melo of course could always walk to the Knicks with or without trying to screw Denver. Of course if he did so he'd be in a position to determine whether or not a sign and trade actually happens. He may be frustrated enough with them that he goes back on his word.
so them keeping melo through the deadline pretty much locks up melo to the knicks imo. Instead of whacky scenarios where he gets traded to some team as a rental.. goes on to win a 'chip with said team....

i don't buy that. denver takes a big risk. what if the new cba isn't really that much difference then the old one for melo's salary. then what for denver ? they could end up with nothing. gallo or chandler, ar and a pick might not be great for them but it's better then nothing.

theres also a chance that they get absolutely nothing if melo doesnt want a s&t in the summer.

Re: [Camelo Thread 14] - Dallas half heartedly talks rental
Listen, I love Gallo (IBTHelovesthecockcomments) and I think he COULD be a Pierce level player ,but right now, the following analogy holds true:
DLee is to Amare as
Gallo is to Melo
Now, do I want Knicks to hold on to Gallo IF Knicks get Melo in a trade? Yes. But just because Gallo's (or Will's) scoring is up, AND we need a C, doesn't mean you don't get Melo if possible.

More from Bucher:
Roger (Littleton, CO)
I believe Larry Coon wrote in a recent article for ESPN that trading Melo after the season really isn't an option for a bunch of reasons unless it's a sign and trade in free agency (if that still exists in the new CBA). Are the Nuggets really willing to risk losing Melo for nothing?
Ric Bucher
(1:53 PM)
It's not the ideal situation, for sure, but it still can be done. And, yes, from what I've heard, the Nuggets might just be willing to let him walk for nothing. Depriving him of the bigger paycheck would be their moral victory. Besides, what can they do if Melo isn't going to sign an extension as part of the deal?

anything is possible but i have a hard time believing that an organization would choose spite over helping their franchise. why are they that bitter towards melo anyway ? he hasn't come out and ruined their leverage by saying he only wants us. he went along with the whole jersey charade even though he wasn't interested. if they're bitter towards us i understand but waiting till the summer doesn't punish us in any way.

A "Moral victory" of Melo getting 15 MM instead of 18 MM a year.

Yeah that just sounds way too ridiculous when you say it out loud. Are they really going to let spite stand in the way of HELPING THEIR TEAM. It makes no sense. Isn't this is what managing an pro sports franchise is all about?? Helping your team, even in the worst of circumstances?

At the end of the day even coming away with three cheap rotation players in Randolph, Walker and Douglas would be better then getting nothing.
That obviously would be an insult of an offer - yet it's still better than nothing.

Its obvious Mr. Kroenke is still pist off at the Chris Paul thing at the wedding and hasn't let go. If that didn't happen he would be probably be more open to trading with your guys' team.

Also Melo screwing up his dealings with the Nets might have angered him even more.

Denver may hold onto Melo. But spite won't be the reason. Melo = Playoffs. Playoffs = more games at home. More games at home = more money for the home team.
