Maybe we can get one of those young (under 35) power forwards to be a legit backup.

lmao why would Morey do that?

To break league rules? (You can't do a S&T once an offer sheet has been signed)

Dolan has to compete with Brooklyn. Casual fans now have an alternate team to root for if the Knicks start to piss them off. Those BK Nets snapbacks are like the hottest item in the area right now. Knicks aren't dumb. They will match. At the end of the day, the contract stinks, but the ball is still in their court.

I gotta go to Brooklyn one of these days and see this.

fair enough that deal is alos ridiculous. So is blowpez max and to a lesser extent Hibbert and Gordon. FWIW the trend this summer does seem to be grossly over paying players. Thought the CBA was gonna fix that.

It was supposed to, but it's a poorly constructed CBA in my opinion. The Bulls are also said to be matching Asik's contract which is also ridiculous. There's a lot of bad contracts in the NBA. And now there's just some more.

That was an extremely minor injury. Should have absolutely no impact on his career.

Should have had no impact on him playing a playoff game.. Oh wait

Now, now, he was only 85%.

Plus he didn't want to share in Melo's streak of first round KO's.

Doubt it, but he isn't about to set foot and play on a basketball court until he knows who will be paying him.

And if you guys are honest, all of us would of done the same.

If the Knicks match, and Lin doesn't play well, who gets the blame:

Woodson
Melo
Dolan
Karma
JR
His best friend is gone

Who cares how much he makes in any one year? You take the whole contract into account. This isn't the first time a player has signed a deal that's backloaded or frontloaded. How about you tell us how many players earn more than him in the first two years of his contract?

Yea Asiks is the same as lin right? Definitely wouldnt match that. Not sure why chicago lets go 3 rotation players just to match that. Bulls are in for a real rough season before rose comes back. Gonna have to claw into the playoffs imo

Who's to say he won't be a proven player by his 3rd year?

Whos to say he wont be a bust by end of year 1

Nobody, but OP stated as a fact that he would be an unproven player in 2014-15. My point is nobody knows what's gonna happen. Nobody knows.
