Knicks better win that first game at home. With this team's mental makeup, the series could be over if things go bad early.

I completely agree. If the Celtics take game 1 we'll be in some deep sh*t.

I'd rather not face that team in the first round. Very dangerous.

Watch this & tell me you want to face the Celtics in the playoffs. Garnett is a master of getting inside of peoples' heads, he can be really unpredictable with his personality. I'm sure Garnett & Terry are going to be attacking Melo mentally throughout this series. You know how much stuff Garnett gets away with so this is gonna be a very interesting series. TBH I'm kind of terrified of the thought of dropping a series against the Celtics, I don't even know where my state of mind would be at if we did.
Knicks have improved from that point in the season and the Celtics have gotten worse. Stop overrating the Celtics. 5 games at the most.

Re: Anyone else concerned about Celtics first rd matchup?
The Knicks have played very strongly this season and are entering the playoffs performing at a high level. The Knicks have had their share of injuries, but this has not prevented them from developing their team.
The Celtics head into the playoffs as a mystery. Unlike NY, their injuries have kept them from putting together any sort of chemistry all season (Bradley out early. Green and Wilcox recovering from heart surgery. Rondo, Sullinger, Barbosa lost for the season. Crawford, Williams, and Randolph trying to fit in at the last minute.)
Basically, the entire season has been a preseason for Boston. The big questions for them are- Will their new starting 5 come together in time to face a very strong Knicks team? And- Is Jason Terry done, or will he do what he's done in previous playoffs?
The Knicks have played great ball this year. The main concern for them, as I see it, is whether the grinding possession by possession style of playoff basketball will diminish their effectiveness from the more open regular season.
Any team that faces the Knicks will have to minimize their 3 point effectiveness. The Celtics have not shown the ability to stop that 3 point shooting in the regular season, but that's not to say they won't put it together for the playoffs with their new lineup.
Bottom line: Without Rondo, the key for Boston is the emergence of Green and the consistency of their older stars. For New York, it's the question of whether they can make the transition from their successful regular season ball to the playoffs.
It will be an intense series.

This is where melo is different from lebron. He talks trash and it motivates him. Terry isn't gonna say nothing to him. And in terms of KG I think the last incident actually scared him.

I'm almost positive that KG woke up the beast that day.
It's best to leave well enough alone, when you are dealing with players the caliber of Carmelo Anthony. I would expect Melo to have an extra pep in his step in Game 1.
Last time KG royally got under a guys skin, the guy dropped 45 and 15 in his building.

What do I care...it's rigged anyway

Celtics remind me of the 2000 Knicks that lost to Toronto. We were convinced we would sweep them because of our past post season success . We didn't believe in Vince Carter. We were so arrogant and believed losing in the first round was beneath us until reality hit us.

I could definitely see the Celtics getting a game or two, but in the end, this is a perfect revenge scenario for the 2011 playoffs. Can't wait to see this battle, especially with a healthy and rested roster.

Yeah, we didn't have Kenyon Martin then, and he'll have Melo's back this time. Garnett ain't gonna pull that crap with an enforcer on the floor.

shmeakone,
were not the same team we were then either
weve grown and IMO were smarter now
but yes, Garnett is a very good dirty scumbag player. hes the closest thing we have to what Malone and Rodman were so good at. Getting under your skin and taking you out of the game
