If it's a defensive presence in the middle you want, Myles Turner is your man. Hell Chris Obekpa in the second would be an intriguing look.
Jazz: Under reconstruction, we'll be back.

Turner's got a nice offensive game, too.

I just hope that he doesn't fall in love with the three point shot because I think that would ruin him, sort of make him go down the Isaiah Austin path.

Montrezl Harrell = Acy. Undersized PF
Kelly Oubre = THJ. No handles, bad shot selection, can't defend a street light
Karl Towns = Barg. lacks toughness, non athletic, bad defender
Jahlil Okafor = Dale. Cant defend the pick and roll, Non athletic, poor quickness
I'm just not excited about the top players in this draft and don't see why a team would even want to tank for such a weak draft. Non of these players are destined to be All-Stars. I'd rather pick at 10-14 if we don't make the playoffs.

Okafor dominant again! 12/14 from the field, 24 points, 7 rebs and 3 blocks. This kid is going to be gooooooooood!

We desperately need that kind of efficiency and those easy buckets.

Re: College Thread AKA Prospect Watch
On the college talk, I'm quite intrigued what D'Angelo Harrison is going to do this year. Supposedly really matured after last year and he's looking quite good right now, playing with the same passion. St John's really got an intriguing mix of talent this year.

this means nothing but okafor, as dominant as he is, doesn't draw many free throws. the season just started though
also he has 1.3 blocks while playing 27 minutes, towns has 3.5 blocks while only playing 18 minutes

OK?
You make it seem like we don't like him...which is far from the truth.

I want a dog next to Melo.
I want someone that has the motor and intensity to do all the things Melo doesn't do, while also possessing a certain level of skill. It's an extremely rare combination and Montrezl has it. I don't want anybody with major holes in their game and I don't want anybody who is going to take a little while to get to where we need him to be.
Okafor and Towns aren't lock, stock, and barrel to be franchise changing bigs. Both have various issues that could prevent them from being phenomenal and even if they could be phenomenal, they are 3 or 4 years AT BEST from reaching that potential.
I'll actually have a debate about it when it comes to those guys, but outside of that. I don't see why I'm taking somebody other than Montrezl.

Re: College Thread AKA Prospect Watch
If Harrell was 3" taller, he would be a monster on the pro level. However, he's going to measure out at 6'7, 6'8, who the heck is he going to guard at the pro level? I like Myles Turner because he's a natural 6'11 and he can play with his back to the basket, as well as face up. Give me skilled and size. Undersize need not apply.
The same goes for Cliff Alexander. If he was 7'0, he'd be a clear candidate for #1 overall. But he's 6'8. Too small to battle with some of these goliaths in the NBA.

Harrel isn't a franchise changing big either and he isn't going to come in immediately and change a franchise or make a big impact. You say you don't want someone with major holes in their game, but Harrel has some.
There are other players that I'd take before Harrel and I like him.
But, like you said, you like what you like and I like what I like.

Re: College Thread AKA Prospect Watch
A guy I like is Bobby Portis. He grew three inches over the summer and is now 6'11, with the ability to handle, step out and finish at the rim. Gonna have a huge year at Arkansas this year. He's poised to be a top 8 pick IMO.
