I guess Rick Carlisle and Donnie Nelson see a lot of value in having stat on their team. But what do they know?

If Tyson cares so much about defense then why the hell would he want stat on his team? I'm pretty sure they asked him for his opinion

I hope he comes back with a minimal contract next season

there is so much wrong in this post i dont know where to start...

what sucks is that his PER is 16th best in the league. Even washed up, he's better than what his replacement will bring.

Good riddance, you miserable waste of money, and thank you for bringing us nothing.

Rasho - you didn't want Amare. Didn't want Anthony.

In an alternative world, what should the Knicks have done?

We should have not traded Jeffries and tanked. That's the truth but we have **** ownership. Guess I'll be rooting for the Mavs in the playoffs.

This is often unpopular but I love Marc Cuban as an owner, the dude is passionate about winning but he is not stupid with his money or approach. Sadly he seems to strike out a lot on his intended targets but he is loyal to his coaching staff, and to his players. I would be thrilled to have him own my team. While Amar'e is not what WE need, with his STAT line he is exactly what the Mavs need. While he was nto worth what WE were paying him, he is MORE than worth the Vets minimum.

Keep their draft picks and develop their own players. That's how you put yourself in a position to win.

The only teams with rosters that I see fit into your formula are Chicago and Golden State. Chicago drafted well with Rose, Butler, and Noah, but they were STILL looking to add a player like Melo in FA, and missed out. Golden State drafted the Splash Brothers, Barnes, and Draymond Green, but the rest of their team is stocked with players they traded for (Bogut, Iguodala.

If we kept our picks and developed players like Chandler, Gallo, and Lee, each of them have missed significant time due to injury. We very well could be the Sixers with year after year of lottery picks and still have nothing to show for it. I agree we shouldn't be dealing picks like we have historically, but I don't think just keeping the picks and developing young players is the silver bullet. We need a little luck too.

Naturally you have to have a blend. The Knicks have zero, not only do they not keep their free agent signings they dont keep their drafted players either.

Think about it....there's only TWO players from the 54 win season on the team currently. And thats just two years ago.

I'm with you there. That 54 win season seems so long ago. :eek1:
