this was calculated...a day before the CP3 presser...momentum for the rockets and morey. We aren't gift wrapping you melo and taking on contracts pay up or look like a fool.

Rondo, THJR, Melo, KP, and Willy can also go small Rondo, THJR, Lee, Melo, Kp.

Rookie PG, Lee, and O'quin gives us a solid 8 man rotation. If it all clicks we can get the #2 seed as the East is wide open. Just need them to be focused and well coached. Shouldn't have a problem making the playoffs in the weakest Eastern Conference in recent memory.

Lol signing a 25 year old is signaling the knicks as not rebuilding, this fan base has just gave up

they signed him to an un-tradable contract. that isnt an asset its a hindrance. it holds no value. thats not rebuilding, its affecting your ability to properly rebuild. hes a roster spot and cap space. whoopeee.

unless he breaks out and becomes an allstar. but cmon now.

Please tell me what makes you think thjr will stop improving?

Cap space is overrated you need to actually be a good team to even meet with fa, Noah will be off the books before knicks are dumb enough to trade thjr, there's your cap space to sign nobody because having cap helped so much the past 8 years.

You bulid around hungry young improving talent thjr fits the mold stop complaining and actually see the core of the knicks smh.

i still think he's gone. Our leverage play was to have Melo and his agent along with CP3/Harden pressure morey into pushing this deal through. If that takes more assets from HOU (morey wanted to stay away) but he might not have a choice now.

If they're serious about competing vs. GSW, they need this trade to go down. Hopefully they cave. I don't see Houston waiting until the deadline to pull the trigger, by then it may already be too late to adjust everyone's cohesion.

mpharris36 wrote:all it takes is Melo's agent to make a call to Morey and say Harden, CP3, and Melo want this. Get it done. And morey will jump. He has to. CP3 is a free agent next year and if you don't think bringing in one of his best friends helps secure him for the future your crazy. Morey won't be stupid enough to risk that.

He probably was doing everything to keep as many assets as possible thinking we were desperate we are trying to flip the script on him.

Watch us Morey, we have been a sh*t show for 15 years...whats another year with drama? LOL

We tied up a huge chunk of our space to him instead of acquiring picks/younger players. Had we kept the cap-space, we could have easily unloaded Melo and ate up some salary to go full rebuild. We limited our flexibility and he will win us a few meaningless games and we all know how much those hurt our chances at a top pick, just look at last season.

Getting hardaway is acquiring young talent... flexibility to do what exactly? What fas are coming to ny to play with a lotto team.

So 3 horrible big men while we're invested in KP & Willy.
Contracts tied into 6 big men. Sounds like fun :D

Yeah because 2 and 3 unprotected first round picks in addition to our own pick gives us flexibility and power. Anderson can play multiple positions, Leonard is the 15th man and Noah will be on injured reserve all year. Then in years 2 to 3 years these contracts become easier to move or buyout. This is a long-term strategy.

Right. I'm sure they are stressing right now about how to answer the Melo questions the media will be throwing at them tomorrow. These guys have been talking like a deal is already done for over a week and now that it isn't so sure what do they have to say for themselves?

Sorry but the Knicks and the Nets are the only teams that give away unprotected first round picks

Melo is not going to be traded to Houston. Melo will be traded to the Cavs for Love.

I think any new GM would prefer to start with a clean slate. It's too tricky a situation to keep Melo around, too much of a distraction going forward.
