I think playoff seeding is too important. Like this season even the bottom seeds are good. Cats can't run the risk of folding the tent too early and ending up in an unfavorable 1st round matchup. Getting cute now could lead to a premature exit.

True, but going too hard might lead to a team missing a key player in the first round, and HCA is not going to make up for that.

Judging by the power rankings, the SIM is projecting the Raptors to miss the playoffs and the Miami Heat and Atlanta Hawks to get in as the final two seeds.
