On a real note, I jokingly made a comment about in the game thread, but how much drugs are they currently pumping in Joel to play these games? It’s not a thing of rest, you don’t suddenly recover from an injury like that in 2 days, just by his reckless behavior in the first half alone seem even excessive for him.

These are both good teams. They are better than their record because Embiid is back. He's a great player. Maxey is a star. They have a good team. Nobody has said otherwise. We're still up 2-1 with home court advantage intact.

I don't think the D was soft. But the refs were obviously calling **** tight for Joel and this "marginal" bull dictated how up close players could be on Joel.

You can tell who doesn't know basketball here. Some of them are just homers and don't watch ball outside of the Knicks and think irrationally about our team.

Embiid looks like hes rounding back to form. We're already having a hard time guarding Maxey. If Embiid is near 100%.. we might be in big trouble. This is what some of us feared entering this series while the homers kept ignoring it.

look, it takes a special kind of maniac to try to intentionally hurt someone. i'm sure most athletes feel like they wouldn't want that to happen to them so they don't do it to others. the problem with foul calls like this is the refs respond more to your reaction than what actually happens. if mitch did an acting job and grabbed his leg and acted like he was seriously hurt they probably would have thrown him out. but because he just got up they didn't treat it like it's a big deal.

I'm not above selling hits. A modern approach, sure, but effective.

you see a lot of stars do it. but i'm sure to some guys it feels cheap. i really see this as the refs fault. if mitch got hurt enough that he had to be carried out joel would have probably missed more than just this game. so only the results are penalized not the intent. it's like shooting at someone and missing and not being charged.
