You can go over the cap to sign rookies like you can go 10% over the cap to sign FA's...that was a rule added years ago.
The problem is you can't extend those rookies over the cap so that could be an issue for him if he wants to extend his rookies for the cheapest price.
I stand corrected on that rule, but a team in his circumstance shouldn’t even be capped out/over the cap to sign a rookie.
But anywho lol
to be fair, I think this is the first year he owns his first pick so first year he will able to help his team via the draft. The team he took over had to be one of the worst (insert the cap gif).
He didn't do himself any favors with the exempt list...I don't think he took a year off JJ, Warren, or Cousins which he should have absolutely done (Bish mentioned multiple times if you don't PM him the contracts freeze)...that means another year on the books for those. That was a mistake.

Oh I know he inherited a bad situation , but that bad situation gone bad to bad.
You combine the NTC contracts,
the exempt deals, long term bad contracts, etc. and to make the move this offseason to take on a bad contract to move up one spot in a draft that doesn’t have a clear #1 is….yeah
There’s paths to dig yourself out of hole, just don’t think doubling down on poor decisions of your predecessor is the way to do it.

Ight somebody explain to me what’s going on in Washington like I’m 5th grader
Is there a master plan I’m not seeing or his team the dumpster ground for bad contracts and low talent youth for the rest of the league
As presently presented he can’t even afford the salary for the 1st overall pick
These moves are head scratching and if no one else will say it publicly I will….

We both have more trades coming. The trade we actually agreed upon hasn’t been completely posted yet… Bish probably wanted to get this into the world simply to get the draft started
“Wizards get:
1st overall pick
Moses Moody- $33/1 year
Bogdan Bogdanovich- $109/3 years
Total = $142
Suns get:
2nd overall pick
Kris Murray- $16/2(3) years
Seth Curry- $125/2 years
Total = $141”
My target was Keegan’s Twin
Seth is in another trade that involves pick swaps & Wiggins

mpharris36 wrote:not a lot of buzz because I think we are waiting on a lot of those big trades to drop but the draft starts tonight...even though it doesn't have any marque type players there are always good players in every draft just might have to do a little more digging this year.

Imagine in the NBA you see all these franchise talents get dealt year after year. That Piston lineup is crazy, it definitely needs some shooting so it'll be interesting to see how the team gets rounded out.

I mean, I figured you would.
All I know is I got Cole Anthony in a 4 team deal and the team he was originally on wasn't in the deal

In the spirit of competition I love it!
I have no intel/insight but it appears he has:
PG: Doncic | X
SG: X | X
SF: Barnes | McDaniels | O’Neal
PF: Davis | Portis
C: Lively | Portis
With a lot of money still to play with…
