You pull Josh and play Mitch more to match up with Ausars minutes. They were both difference makers last game, but Ausar played 28 minutes to Mitch's 22, Mitch should be guarding Ausar the same way Duren guards Josh. KAT and Mitch were +11 net rating on the court together this season, play them whenever Ausar is out there and make them pay for playing someone who can't shoot the same way they do to us.

Also, don't let the Pistons dictate how we attack on offense, we barely run PnR between KAT and Brunson, screen and rescreen until you get Harris on Brunson. We could also try screening the screener, when KAT sets a screen for Brunson, Josh comes up to set a screen for KAT, try and get Duren out of the lane more or switched onto KAT so that he has to defend outside. We're letting the Pistons control what we do on offense.

The guy that is averaging 2.3 fouls in only 17 minutes a game and is shooting 27% from the free throw line and even has Detroit now hacking him just to put him on the line so they can live with him shooting those bricks at the line is the solution?

Robinson has shown no signs of being able to play starters minutes and he’s not fixing anything offensively. I do think our defense has been better with him on the floor but offensively still the same struggles

Robinson had the highest ORTG on the team last game, that happened because Duren cannot just leave him the way he can with Hart, so even if Mitch's raw numbers aren't great, it's that he's making Duren have to defend someone and not just play free safety.

It's about making Duren have to do something on defense, make him have to box out someone bigger than himself, make him think twice before rotating and abandoning the man he's defending. Duren it's even a good defender, but he's been a problem this series because he doesn't actually have to guard anyone, all he has to do is help.

Teams adjusted...

-> Tall wing defender on Brunson (Thompson or Cade)
-> Agile PF on KAT so you can switch the P&R (Harris)
-> Center on Hart waiting in the paint for Brunson/KAT (Duren)
-> Remaining short guys on OG/Mikal

Almost zero adjustments by Thibs except to "let the game dictate your play"

So what adjustments do you make to fix that?

1) Run P&R with JB/KAT anyway... it can lead to an open JB three, a driving lane for JB, a pop for a KAT three (which Brunson doesn't look for unfortunately), or a KAT post up at the free throw line against the switch which would force a double or a high percentage post up (Thibs doesn't have them do this part either... see how Boston executes this with KP to excellent effect...)

2) Hart to the bench. Either Mitch or Deuce starting.

3) KAT setting picks at the baseline for OG/Mikal to curl off of. Then he posts his smaller man closer to the basket after setting the picks.

4) More Mikal/OG post ups throughout the game.

Thibs has hardly done any of these except for #4 on occasion.

This isn’t what got us the offensive efficiency earlier in the year so all you are doing is experimenting and hoping it works but it’s not proven that it can. I think it’s a little late in the year to start experimenting and trying out new lineups while at the same time having expectations of it working as well as the offense worked early in the year. You are who you are at this point in the season, there are no quick fixes now

This will be the toughest game to win all series. We better be prepared if Brunson has to sit because of his ankle, Thibs needs to have the bench ready and use them because it's going to be a physical game.

Nobody is concerned about Robinsons offense, Ofcourse they will leave him just like they kept leaving him for those offensive boards while they helped on the drive. That didn’t solve our offensive woes in any way shape or form. We still shot poorly, they still had Ausar on Brunson, they still had a smaller wing on KAT and we still struggled to make free throws.

All those issues that we’ve been having are still present.

We have won 3 out of 5 games with Josh Hart playing a big role while Robinson was a complete non factor.

Josh is shooting 46% from 3 on low volume but he just needs to shoot better than last game as the whole team does because everybody struggled shooting last game. If only one starters shoots just a little better from outside the series would have been over already. They don’t need to make some major adjustments to put the Pistons away

Celtics, well that’s another story and we have no solution for that no matter what

Even just our free throws if we don’t shoot poorly from the free throw line the series is over. Make your free throws

Can’t wait for this one to start, the pistons are making themselves very unlike able with the random talking. Hope Robinson or someone floors Beasley with a unexpected screen.

Tru life eating that bowl of fruity pebbles drenched in champagne was a sign of grit and determination for commiting to such a bad idea.
