how many brunson/mikal/deuce minutes do you want to reduce to account for this essential delon wright contribution in the conference finals?

Instead of overtaxing the starters with 38-40 minutes a game they all can average a little less . Yea Im fine with that.

they don't look tired to me. their opponents do though.

but now show me the rotations with the delon minutes you want to shoehorn. who is playing when?

Yeah, I'm not a fan of this at all.

There's no problem talking trash to an opposing fan, but you should never resort to going down these levels and think it is acceptable behavior.

Pacer fans get hit with trash everyday B, they tough, right?

But Knick fans getting jumped is a travesty, we need to back our brothers and sisters and go in deeper numbers, in 2027 or 2028 whenever the Celtics make the playoffs again.

I love the videos of the celebration around MSG and I'm proud we're the most passionate fanbase, but I'm always skeptical of the mob mentality that some of the weaker people can fall into.

It was stupid of that Pacers fan to provoke a crowd by wearing a Haliburton jersey on a night where the Pacers weren't even playing. Nothing positive was ever going to come out of it. But to physically touch the guy, or that young Celtics fan after game 4, is weak and dangerous. It also sets a terrible precedent for Knicks fans wearing their jersey at away games. And Windhorst is a respectable journalist - teasing him is fine but invading his space just to go viral and get the validation from the wider fanbase is lame.

The younger wing of the fanbase has always had a Red Guard component to it, from stomping on Randle's poster, to trying to silence the RJ critics online (including the KFS staff pressuring Macri on his own platform) and some of the extreme behavior we have seen recently.

It's only a minority, but I hope this minority doesn't take it too far and ruin the party for everyone else.

All these guys are just doing these stunts for the internet and its always the stupid minority giving fanbases a bad name. There's no reason for any throwing of anything just celebrate your teams win. But This guy with the Haliburton jersey knew exactly what he was doing and was looking for reaction/attention from whatever was going to come out from it. And again as society we reward stupidity and no he gets a free trip to a game for acting like this.

This is the Josh series IMO, he's averaging 22/11 againt them this season. He's been driving on Haliburton with ease, and if they decide to put Turner on Josh I would expect Mikal to light Hali up.

Whoever Hali is guarding is going to have a good series.

The pacers are one of the few teams that never put there wings on KAT. They have basically guarded him with Turner/Bryant ect....I don't know if that will be interesting to see if they switch up with the playoffs. You think they would have to because it eliminates the KAT pick and pop game.

I think it's because they don't trust Haliburton on defense, they figure Hart is our worst offensive player and can hide him there, but so far this season that has worked against them because Josh just takes him to the rim and rebounds on him. I would expect a big series from Mikal if Hali is guarding him, and Hart will still kill them on the boards because Turner is a joke there, Struss was guarded by Hali and averaged almost 3 ORPG  Hart is snatching and will have a 20 rebound game if they keep Hali on him.

Maybe they'll try it now that it's the playoffs, but we're starting to get better at dealing with it.

KAT killed them too so my guess is they might try to guard KAT straight up with Turner off the bat but if KAT gets going my guess is we see Siakam or Nesmith on KAT but that means a smaller defender goes to Brunson in Nembhard which would be good for us as well.

And like you said they certainly try to hide Haliburton. They tried to do that on Strus and Gary Trent in the first couple rounds...but Hart is why more active and physical then either one of them. So even if he's no guarding he has to box out Hart or we will get a ton of 2nd opportunities.

Haliburton on Mikal or OG would be food as well.

Very well said. Hurting others intentionally is not a part of the game and shouldn't be a part of our celebrations, either. While Windhorst is a journalist, he sets a tone that troubles readers, especailly when he's wrong. Still, even he shouldn't fear personal confrontation.

By design, sports is supposed to be like war, but no intentional harm and those who lose get to live another day. Whether they get to play is TBD.

They will get blown out if they guard KAT with Turner, that's a death sentence, in the limited time the Celtics did it they were getting lit up

If they stick with Turner on KAT it'll be a brief series, even they have to understand that doing that just gives our offense life.

Do you remember how they beat the crap out of Brunson the entire series last year with a full court press?

Delon Wright might be the 2nd best ball handler on the team vs pressure. Its yet another reason to find minutes for him in this series.

My concern is KAT on Turner in that sense. I would much rather have KAT on Siakam and make Siakam a jump shooter because Siakam can't take KAT into the post with his size. Then KAT trying to hedge and recover or playing drop against the pacers.

I don't think Thibs is going to switch the Haliburton screen and have KAT guard him.

I would rather put KAT on him as well, but I doubt that will happen. We cannot go back to playing drop, and KAT held up well against the Celtics on switches, we always have to remember Haliburton can and will stop shooting at times. Just do what we did against the Celtics, the example of what not to do is game 5

Haliburton is about the same level of scorer as White if we're being real, yeah he'll shoot deep threes, and he's a much better passer, but we can't overreact to his shooting.

haliwhite is so disrespectful. i'm here for it though. much better scorer though. can actually create for himself when he needs to. and can't take the playmaking threat out of the picture as to why he's able to score.

yeah I think we are simplifying it a bit much. Pacers made life difficult for the Mobley/Allen defensive front court and they are better defensively then us with KAT.

While Tatum and Brown can attack switches they do it mostly in isolation and looking to score. Haliburton is far better at getting into the paint and breaking down the defense if we switch...we had guys like Mikal and OG digging a bit and recovering because Tatum and Brown aren't going to hit the same weak side passes that Haliburton consistently does.

My issue is that KAT isn't always the smartest tool in the toolbox. The BOS series we simplified the scheme and it was mostly just switch to eliminate confusion and even then KAT had multiple slip ups. Imagine a pacers series with Mikal on Hali and KAT have to read the P&R coverage and then either switch or sometimes be in drop. You can't blitz haliburton he is too big and too big of a passer and pacers are a great team in terms of sharing the ball they will kill a blitz coverage. So its either Switch with a little drop. But having KAT guard Haliburton all series could be an issue as well.

Pacers run a lot of ghost screens and player off ball movement...that is basically what put us in the blender in game 5...and pacers even do it better than the celtics...so certainly not an easy matchup defensively...might even be a harder matchup defensively for us because of that...BOS settled for mismatches on switches and then ISO's...Pacers do way more.

Now pacers are not even close to the same defensive team as BOS so we need and should be able to score on them.

this is an excellent breakdown of X's and O's if you guys want to listen.

Wright PROVED he can ball in this system over 10-12 games. He was a resounding positive in the lineup. Arguably better than anyone outside of starters and McBride/Robinson. And he has the clear length advantage over McBride
