Man, that would be bad for Boston especially if Milwaukee takes care of Charlotte. Would put Boston 1.5 games from becoming an 8th seed having to face Miami come the first round...

I think he might be able to make 20-25 million on a new contract that lasts 4 or 5 years...can't see him banking much more than that, though I guess this FA class is pretty weak and he has a better reputation than most. Still, he's nuts.

1 year ...16 mil.

4-5 years....25 mil?

Yo do get what I'm saying fam?

BTW, he can't get a fifth year without the help of Denver.

The new CBA makes it hard to answer...I don't think anyone's getting paid old school numbers, Smith and Andre included. Iguodala would make more than JR imho, and I have him at around 5 or 6 million a year...so if you give JR less, he's right around the Knicks' max available offer for him (4.4). I could be wishful here.

Once again, Iguodala is getting paid more than 5-6 mm a year. He's the type of player that young teams like Detroit that need to spend money on a player would like to have as he's extremely unselfish, a great defender, and wouldn't impede the development of their purported gems. Just last year a worse version of Iggy was paid 4 yrs $40 mm. His name? Gerald Wallace.

I doubt--but who knows--JR is offered as much because, unlike Iggy, JR will need the ball, he's had a checkered past with his past two teams, unclear how he would help the younger guys on the team, and has a selfish rep even if that's overstated. That gives us an opportunity to keep JR at the league average.

Gerald Wallace opted out to sign with his own team, he didn't leave one team and join another for his money, and he makes the samre thing he made when they acquired him.

Iggy is gonna take a major paycut, to the tune of possibly playing for free one season, if he leaves Denver via opting out.

Iggy is worth much more than Gerald Wallace is and I don't understand how Wallace re-signing with his own team makes a difference in our comparison. There will be more than enough teams with cap room to sign Iggy which provides a market for him to push against (Without big time FAs out there) to get MUCH more than $6 mm.

Ultimately, I think he re-signs with Denver anyway, lowers their total cap number, but guarantees him three years of very good salary.

Is that why Scola's numbers across the board not only stayed the same, but both his ppg (+0.7) and his FG% (+ 0.006) were higher than his season avg when Lowry was out? Keep in mind that Kevin Martin got injured just a couple games after Lowry, so Courtney Lee also upped his averages. So did Chandler Parsons and Chase Budinger. Both Camby and Dalembert had a better FG%, too.

You keep saying they played worse with Dragic, but somehow the numbers seem to disagree with you. Maybe, just maybe, they were worse because they were missing two players who played the most minutes for them before they got injured.

You forgot to mention that Dragic's box score also went up. That's why I asked whether he actually watched that epic failure of a stretch instead of just inferring performance from the box score. They were putting up good looking box scores and finding new ways to lose. The intial euphoria of the numbers didn't last once reality kicked in. The box scores didn't tell the whole story. I didn't say he was shooting worse, I said he was playing like dogpoo. If I was going by box scores, then I would have mistakenly thought that players like Dragic and Calderon were awesome team-first players, too.

The home team always pays more, Wallace couldn't sniff that money in the open market, and his intention all the long was to continue to make what he previously did, which is why he doesn't equate to the topic at all.

Iggy though if he leaves Denver is leaving 16 mil on the table in one year.

He would have to make over 10 mil starting for that to make any sense.

The most he can get without Denver's help is 4 years, 5 via S & T.

He'll be essentially playing for free in one of those years due to his opt out.

If you were him, how much would you have to get on your new deal in order to opt-out? He will never get a 5 year deal so let's throw that out.
