Blazer Team President Press conference Transcript

First off all I'd like to say Russell Westbrook during his time in Portland was a consumate professional, he embodied the hard work and grit of the original Portland Jail Blazers. Trading Westbrook did not come easy, however we feel with this move the organization is headed closer to its original target. We're very happy to welcome Kevin Durant who we believe will thrive playing alongside Jimmy Buckets. Now If you have any questions for KD go ahead:

KD how do u feel knowing you will never feel secure with your position on the team with your GMs lack of remorse trading big time superstars year after year

I decided to check in on this figuring the trade deadline was coming up.
I saw my team sinking in the standings and needed to finally trade Bron.
I put it out that I’m gonna trade Bron.
The response I get from everyone is basically go f*ck yourself you don’t answer PMs. Then I got pooched.
And then I thought how entirely stupid this is that just because I pissed some people off but not answering PMs that the league would f*ck with me and no one would let me actually trade Lebron for fair value and I was right.
The only offer I got from Bron was Hoffas deal. So I took the best offer as a I said I would.
So honestly the trade should go through because you all slept on this. If pooch was smart he would’ve made a real offer instead of trying to mess with me. If everyone else who was bitching in here was smart then would’ve put an offer in. Nope 0. Best offer was Hoffa and he got the deal

Just to throw it in, I almost made an offer around Gobert but figured it was dead in the water. I didn't avoid offering because of a boycott or whatever, I just didn't think I could make a competitive offer for someone of Bron's stature without changing the direction of my team entirely. Lesson learned...Hoffa did due diligence.

BR asked me about KP for Lebron, but with Luka and my team being young/Lebron getting older and having a giant long contract, I didn't think it made sense

Why would a GM think moving a $500 player be easy, and that there would be a soul train line. Alot of teams would have to gut a roster.

im open to deals as well. I also have a 2019 1st up for trade if the deal is right. I have $56 in cap space as well so I would be willing to take on larger salary for a 1-2 year period.

Thabo $11 expires next year
RHJ $20 expires next year
MKG $50 expires next year
Jamychal Green $75
WCS $60

Are all available, if you're trying to dump long term salary on me it'll take some compensation though. These guys are all serviceable, some young and all have positive simulation impacts.

you got pooched, Lebron got dealt and confirmed prior to you doing so.

ill be interested in Lin though

So let me guess this is cool cause they had to do what was best for the franchise right??? Traded this man while he was literally playing in the game and had ZERO idea. I’m not knocking who traded him because it’s a business and you have to do what you feel what’s best but I just want this narrative to start to get REAL/CHANGE and not when a player wants to be traded or leaves a Franchise that he’s a selfish/ungrateful player but when they trade you, release , waive, cut etc etc it’s best for them! I’m ok with both honestly, truly am. Just call a ♠️ a ♠️!!
