I tolerate things people have no control over, i.e. race, gender, sexuality, etc etc. I don't tolerate racist sh*t bags who believe in fairy tales and want to subjugate everyone else with their white Christian nationalism.

Or as somebody put on Twitter a while back, we can disagree about pizza toppings and tax brackets. We cannot disagree about racism. Those people are wrong and deserve every bit of scorn coming their way.

The thing is that there is simply no talking to them. We can give them all the courtesies and good faith in the world but, in the end, they won't be budged. So, what's next?

Nope. I'm pretty much done with them. These past two months, and the support Trump still enjoys among conservatives despite his utterly lawless and shameless behavior, are pretty much the last straw. All those bad, evil Muslims they're constantly wetting themselves over? The FBI is currently vetting the National Guard for fear of an inside job to cause mayhem (and worse) during the inauguration. That's where we are as a country. We have a radical right wing that has descended into full-on fascism. So they can either repent or sit down and STFU.

How in the hell can companies such as Fox propagate all these lies over the years without the Murdoch family, management or the on air personalities getting sued, fined or criminally prosecuted? This has nothing to do with free speech and everything to do with hate speech. How can the Murdoch family get away with this. This, however, is different because the lies are designed to sow distrust in our political institutions and presidential election for the purpose of inciting an insurrection. That's illegal. There are a lot of other types of illegal speech which you can look up very easily. You simply cannot incite an insurrection, particularly when (1) you have no evidence of the fraud which is the basis of their conspiracy theory; and (2) you are either the President of the U.S. or a duly elected legislative representative in the House or Senate who has taken an oath to uphold the U.S. Constitution.

I agree with Wingo, it's one thing to have tabloids spewing lies about actors or musicians and who they sleep with. It's quite another thing to literally be lying to it's viewers, to be subverting democracy. They were even lying and deceiving the masses about the pandemic. How many lives did they cost? If I had lost a love one who was deceived by Fox I would be looking at bringing a legal case against them. Imagine having the gall to call the pandemic a hoax. There are 195 countries in the world and every one of them are fighting Covid, now that’s one hell of a hoax. Talk about a lot of people being in on it.

I agree in the end though, it’s all about money, always has been, always will be.

The weird thing is that if they would’ve attempted to competently handle the virus, it would have been a boon to the Republican Party and a feather in Trump’s hat. He probably would’ve been re-elected too.

The focus was on Trump using Pence to throw the states back to the legislatures, that's why it was a Trump/Pence meme.

Nobody was talking about threat of violence before Jan 6th. I thought there would be good security. I have deleted the more incendiary comments. Good luck over the next 2 days. Trump is passing a lot of executive orders for someone who's supposed to be leaving soon.
