While neither Ryan or Rivera are going to be the smartest coach in the room, they both command respect. Ryan would instantly improve our defense, Rivera would bring some stability to the offense.
Reddick will leave.
Reed will get paid somewhere else.
Once again the Jets will need to build the offensive line back up and that should be the primary focus this off-season. The road to the playoffs isn't that far really, we just need to build a damn culture again because we lost all of it once again.
I think there are some benefits to letting a bunch of these guys walk. Compensatory picks for Reddick and Reed should be cool, not to mention if they lose some of the young guys. A reset now, at least gives a GM some flexibility and picks in a year to go with whatever they put in place with their top-10 slot this year.
The O-line is the one spot that I'm not too concerned about tbh. Bring back AVT, Tippman is a solid Center, Olu got about the best case scenario for his foot injury and looked like a legit LT, and John Simpson held up nicely at RG. That leaves Morgan Moses to replace at RT, but the rest is in a good spot to maintain stability.
It's not as big a disaster as when JD took over. Keep some of the talent, and a good GM/Coach combo could rebuild this squad within a couple of drafts.
